“The entire world is about individualization, you personalize your complete life. It starts with your cup of coffee: you take it the way you want it, you put your clothes on the way you like, you furnish your house the way you like, you choose the car the way you like. Everything is personalized and individualized,” muses Ares Design CEO Dany Bahar.

His passion for the subject is palpable: “But when it comes to your car you always have the risk that others may have the same; they may choose the same black color and the same white leather and the same rims and the same carbon fiber. So it’s personalized but it’s not individualized, and we thought we needed to go one step further and offer the very high-end of luxury automotive buyers the opportunity to design their own one-off cars, to design a car for themselves that no one else has… or maybe just a lucky few have.”

The veteran automotive executive—formerly CEO of British marque Lotus, following stints at Ferrari and Red Bull—is sharing the genesis of his latest venture, named after the Greek god of war.

The luxury Italian coachbuilder was founded on the mission to envision, design and execute one-off totems of lust for the über-wealthy, and has quickly grown into a promising startup with 150 employees, some $70-million in investments and a modern headquarters in the heart of Modena—arguably the most important swathe of automotive earth.

“It’s not a new segment, we’re not inventing anything. It’s called coachbuilding, it’s been here for 100 years,” he explains. “We just try to make it, I don’t want to say affordable, because it’s still a lot of money that you have to spend for such a car, but accessible.”

The first vehicle that put Ares Design on the radar of hardcore enthusiasts worldwide was the Panther ProgettoUno, a stunning homage to the beloved De Tomaso Pantera. Built on the frame of a Lamborghini Huracán, the ’70s/’80s bedroom-poster staple was updated to the 21st century with not only cutting-edge V10s and Brembo brakes, but a loin-tugging shell that struck all the right notes between past and future.

Several other Ares-enhanced vehicles followed, including Land Rover Defenders, 1964 Corvette Stingrays, and air-cooled Porsche 964s; but unlike the Panther ProgettoUno, which started as a current Lambo supercar, these were all original donor cars which were then modernized with advanced tech like turbocharged engines, air suspension, performance brakes, and world-class sound systems. A classic restomod as it’s understood in America, a craft Bahar claims is much more common here than in Europe.

So these restomods technically underwent the inverse process from the ProgettoUno: whereas the latter took a contemporary Lamborghini and cosmetically reshaped it to be retro, the former started with vintage vehicles and updated their entire biology. Yet the Swiss businessman sees them as spiritually the same: Legends Reborn, as Ares dubs them.

“They’re all Legends Reborn because they take something already existing and modify it to adapt it to today’s world,” he explains. “But always knowing where their roots come from. In the end, they’re all modern reinterpretations of vintage design.” In November the Italians unveiled their next Legend Reborn, a partnership with renowned French crystal house Lalique. The Wami Lalique Spyder evokes the nostalgic wonder of 1950s British and Italian roadsters like the Austin Healey 3000 and Alfa Romeo Spider, with the added flourish of jeweled-crystal detailing not only throughout the interior, but also in unexpected places like wheel hubs. Built on a BMW Z4 platform, the chic two-seater will be limited to only 12 units.

The WAMI Lalique Spyder pays homage to 1950s British and Italian roadsters with crystal details

While the Legends Reborn series will remain a foundational pillar of Ares, the Italian brand has now shifted into an entirely new realm: as 2020 hit, the boutique coachbuilder showed its hand by unveiling a new spoke of its growing business model. “Making a product that combines legendary design and modern approach is one thing, and we should keep [doing] it because that’s very, very successful at the moment,” Bahar reveals. “But why not try to do something different where you don’t have a predecessor, like an iconic style from the past? Maybe it’s also interesting to give your brand identity for the future.”

And that futuristic design is the S1 Project. The ground-hugging sled features hand-crafted carbon fiber body panels, a naturally-aspirated V8 mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, forged aluminum axles, and double wishbone suspension outfitted with adaptive Magnetic Ride Control. The modified high-revving Corvette-sourced powerplant generates 715 horsepower and revs to 8,800-rpms, slingshotting the S1 Project to 62-mph from standstill in only 2.7 seconds while unleashing an F1-like rip from the hood-mounted exhaust ports.

When asked about speculation that his heavily-modded powerplant is sourced from the upcoming halo Z06 ’Vette, the Swiss businessman demurs. “Maybe, maybe. I don’t know,” he chuckles. “I can’t comment on that. Let’s leave it on speculation.” Only 24 of the Coupés will be built, although there will be two other S1 body types coming soon—including the Spyder revealed in October (the third in the S1 trifecta remains under wraps). The gorgeous Spyder takes the already lusty S1 Coupé and slices the roof clean off. Similar to the recent Ferrari Monza, the sleek windshield-free profile creates an even more eye-catching machine.

A new project coming after the trio of S1s is already well underway. Bahar promises running prototypes of this second model will be unveiled later this year with cars on the road by 2022. He hints at a third model as well, but “we are still fiddling around with that one,” he readily admits. “We still did not find the right solution to it.”

Despite the S1’s otherworldly looks and hypercar motifs, the vehicle is surprisingly analog. Its rear-wheel-drive platform is shockingly free of electric motors and hybrid doodads. Look all day and you won’t find augmented reality (AR) gauges, rear-wheel steering or “five turbos and seven of this and eight whatever,” Bahar sighs humorously. Ares’ ideals are to make the S1 a driver’s machine, with performance limits aimed at enthusiasts not professional F1 drivers. The overarching goal is to combine three normally distinct and disparate elements: hypercar design plus supercar performance plus sportscar pricing.

“I believe the future is in electric cars and one day it will come, for sure. But today it’s not for us.” Because of Ares’ extremely limited production runs, the CEO doesn’t feel the need to follow the “Electric Or Die” ethos of the major conglomerates who have an avalanche of legislative, economic, social and ethical pressure to segue into zero emissions. He sees a time coming in ten to 20 years when Ares will move on to electric powertrains, but he prophesies first: “Electric cars will have to be slowed down because they’re very, very quick. And they’re very, very dangerous.”

Instead, “Emotion that’s purely in the stomach region, that’s what it’s all about; that’s what our customers are seeking,” he declares. “If you can combine that [visceral] driving element with the stylish design of today’s cars, like we did with the S1, that’s a perfect combination. And then if you don’t have to spend millions to get a rather simple car? That’s the cherry on the cake.”

<![CDATA[Rolex Ranks No. 1 In Luxury Watch Resales, According To New Report]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=style/rolex-ranks-first-luxury-watch-resaleshttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=style/rolex-ranks-first-luxury-watch-resalesFri, 15 Jan 2021 11:59:00 GMT

The RealReal is the largest online luxury consignment site and it did good business in 2020. The company just released a report (PDF) reflecting on buying trends in 2020 and how they might feed into this year and when it comes to preowned, collectible luxury watches, there was one clear winner: Rolex.

The Robb Report says Rolex "only strengthened its position in 2020," selling faster than they did just one year ago. Robb also notes that some Rollie models reach escape velocity faster than others like the GMT-Master II “Batman.”

The "Batman"

RealReal's report indicates the "Batman" frequently sold up to "170 percent of its original retail price in 2020."

Another fascinating detail from the report: Preowned Rolex Explorers saw a 15 percent rise and diamond-encrusted Rolexes accumulated 44 percent in value in the latter part of last year. Fascinating because even as a pandemic slammed most of the world and economies took a nose-dive worldwide, it's clear there were still plenty of well-heeled people ready to treat themselves with a fine timepiece.

The news wasn't just good for Rolex, though.

The RealReal's report indicated that in year-over-year sales, Franck Muller rose by a striking 63%, making the brand a leader in average sale price growth. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak had the greatest resale value growth with 24% and Panerai was leading in fast sales, people snapping up Sylvester Stallone's favorite luxury watch brand 1.3 times faster than in previous years.

An earlier report issued by the same retailer in August 2020 mapped the dominance of a well-known, legacy brand like Rolex to the coronavirus pandemic. According to RealReal, the tough economic climate didn't make people grow stingy so much as it inspired a need for "safer investments," which is why sales of "high-value items, across numerous categories, outpaced that of low-value."

Owning a Rolex is, as any collector will volunteer, as much an investment as anything, and a proven secure one. Rollies will likely dominate the wrists of smart spenders for years to come.

<![CDATA[Behind the Wheel of the 2021 Mustang Mach-E— Ford's First Fully-Electric Mustang]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=rides/ford-mustang-mache-hands-on-2021-1https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=rides/ford-mustang-mache-hands-on-2021-1Fri, 15 Jan 2021 11:00:00 GMT

Ford has taken the plunge into the rapidly-growing electric vehicle market, and their first foray, the 2021 Mustang Mach-E, gets it right on all fronts. From exhilarating performance to tech that anticipates daily needs, the Mach-E paints a bright picture of where the company is heading in the EV game. After spending a week with this futuristic flagship, here’s some revelations from behind the wheel of the new Ford Mustang Mach-E.

The Mustang Mach-E first impresses with striking design cues. The long hood tapers to a flat front end that, without a traditional grille, still manages to look menacing and cool. The fastback-esque rear end comes off streamlined and goes a long way to making the pseudo-SUV hatchback of the Mach-E look and feel sporty despite its utility. The Mach-E may not share the sports car heritage of its namesake but it does seem to share its style with the current incarnation of gas-powered Mustangs that have proven to be so popular.

The visual similarities between the Mach-E and gas-powered Mustangs are, functionally, the only similarities that exist between the two. Driving the Mach-E is a wildly different experience compared to any Mustang that’s existed prior to now. Utterly silent while still being plenty powerful, the 346hp, single-speed transmission takes some getting used to. Off the line, the Mach-E’s 0-60 leaves something to be desired, feeling slightly sluggish compared to its GT, gas-powered counterpart.

Mid-range acceleration was a different story though. The Mach-E zipped from 50 to 90 with the press of a pedal and little other fanfare, with handling better than any Mustang I’ve ever driven. The normal feeling of downshifting was oddly absent in these circumstances but the ability to deliver that mid-range power while completely sticking to the road was impressive. All of this testing was done using the Engage and Unbridled drive modes, as the Whisper mode that promised a “calm” driving experience wasn’t really of interest.

In terms of function, the body of the Mach-E makes it much more accessible as a daily driver than a typical Mustang. There’s an enormous amount of trunk space inside the Mach-E’s signature hatch. The interior is decked out in luxurious, red-piped leather that’s comfortable and classy. The missing shifter - replaced by a now-commonplace gear dial - is an omission that might irk driving enthusiasts looking to instinctively reach for a shifter that simply isn’t there.

The Mach-E also sits higher than a typical Mustang, giving ground clearance that supplants the need to worry about scraping lips and front bumper spoilers. In almost every way, the Mach-E performs better than a traditional Mustang when it comes to being a reliable and fun commuter car. Oh, and the doors pop open with the push of a button instead of the pull of a handle and, as far as I can tell, that button push will never lose its satisfying feel.

In that vein, Ford has absolutely packed the Mach-E with creature comfort tech that adds to the refinement of their new EV that’s not expected in a Mustang. When driving, the Mach-E’s ability to self-parallel-park and the option to turn on one-pedal driving that nixes the need for the brake in stop-and-go traffic were welcome features.

The gorgeous 15” touchscreen display hub controls almost every aspect of the car, from battery management to scheduling that’ll pre-warm the car on cold days, using the heated seats, wheel and thermostat controls.

Ford has leveraged their SYNC system for the foundation of the Mach-E’s infotainment center but layered both Android Auto and wireless Apple Carplay on top of it. The end result is a highly connected car, able to play nice with any smartphone, that’s supremely capable, versatile and convenient.

That connectivity is paramount because there’s much to monitor when it comes to the Mustang Mach-E. Primary among them is battery life. Using Ford’s proprietary app and the cellular connection in the car, keeping an eye on battery life was a no-brainer. Alerts and scheduling exist here as well to make sure the car is always ready to go when you are.

The Mach-E does work with universal superchargers that are abundant in NYC and its surrounding areas and Ford gives two years of free supercharging with purchase. It’s a good thing too because the regular charger that plugs into a household outlet leaves something to be desired in terms of getting you back on the road.

The smart battery system in the Mach-E will fill up the tank quicker when the tank is emptier but, twice during testing, eight hours on standard charging only juiced the Mach-E up 8-10%. Owners will undoubtedly want to call in an electrician to get superchargers installed at home but that’s true of almost every EV on the market.

Starting at $42,895 but really coming in $7,500 lower than that because of a federal tax credit that’s currently available, Some Ford enthusiasts may not fully understand why the Mach-E falls under the Mustang banner, but they'll still find enough to love about this exciting new EV, from its performance to its thoughtful array of technology. If the Mach-E represents a turning point for what Ford wants the Mustang brand to become, it’s a great first step in what’s sure to be the next era of a historic legacy.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War proved to be an absolutely massive hit with current-gen and next-gen PlayStation gamers during lockdown in 2020.

The 1980s-era installment in the tactical first-person shooter franchise was the most downloaded video game by those who were lucky enough to score a PS5 before it sold out and PS4 players in the U.S. Additionally, the highest demand for a free-to-play download went to the battle royale-style Call of Duty: Warzone.

The most-downloaded list begins to differ farther down the ranks. PS5 launch titles like Marvel's Spider-Man: Miss Morales, Demon's Souls and NBA 2K21 (all of which were featured in Maxim.com's best games for PlayStation 5) were predictably popular on the buzzy new console.

PS4 users bought Grand Theft Auto V, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and both this and last year's editions of NBA 2K. A surprise hit was Minecraft at No. 4, a decade-plus-old sandbox title that received very little graphical upgrades to its rudimentary 3D objects and rough textures as a PS4 port.

COVID-19 is still hurting Hollywood's bottom line. Variety reports that a number of major 2021 movie premieres—many already delayed a few times—will once again be delayed. Titles mentioned in the article include Daniel Craig's oft-delayed final Bond movie, No Time To Die, and Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow.

The reason? Even though there are multiple coronavirus vaccines available, vaccinations aren't happening fast and in some places are simply not available in enough quantity to inoculate enough people and make going out in public safe again.

Scarlett Johansson in "Black Widow" trailer

Here's more from Variety:

Nobody expected mass immunization overnight, but with vaccinations being administered at a crawl in the U.S., it now looks like Warner Bros. may have been forward-thinking in acknowledging the box office’s slow return.

Numerous films remain on the release calendar for early 2021, yet cases of the virus in many areas are higher than ever and approximately 65% of U.S. theaters — including those in popular markets like New York and Los Angeles — remain closed. Getting back to the movies in any normal fashion seems as unrealistic today as it did last March when cinemas across the nation were shuttered.

Warner Bros. was widely ridiculed in 2020 when the studio announced it would premiere all its 2021 releases simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max.

Variety goes on to list films expected to see delays from planned winter releases this year:

 • Sony’s Cinderella starring Camila Cabello (Feb. 5),
 • Disney and 20th Century’s The King’s Man (March 12)
 • Jared Leto’s superhero thriller Morbius (March 19)

Variety goes on to note major tentpole movies with set late spring and early summer 2021 premiere dates that "are expected to shift as well if conditions don’t drastically improve in the next month or so."

 • Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow (May 7)
 • Godzilla vs Kong (May 21)
 • Ryan Reynolds’ Free Guy from 20th Century Studios (May 21)
 • Mark Wahlberg-starring Infinite from Paramount (May 28)
 • Disney’s Cruella with Emma Stone (May 28)
 • Fast and Furious sequel F9 from Universal Studios (May 28)
Vin Diesel, still from "F9"

Then there are the big-budget movies. Anything with a budget in excess of $200 million will find it "nearly impossible" to turn a profit now, according to Variety, and even though many have been repeatedly delayed, they are likely to move again.

Variety singles out MGM's No Time To Die, which is currently set to hit theaters on April 2, 2021, after several delays. Unless vaccination rates skyrocket, it seems the latest 007 "will likely vacate" that date and be moved again.

While it seems likely other studios will end up adopting the Warner Bros. approach, the chances for many highly anticipated titles to be delayed again are pretty high. Daniel Craig himself might end up retiring before No Time To Die finally settles on a date.

And considering that the coronavirus pandemic is still exploding in some places and new, sometimes much more easily-transmitted variants on the pathogen pop up weekly, no one will throw caution to the wind regarding gathering in public places like theaters any time soon.

With an ultra-lightweight carbon monocoque built around a 1,825-horsepower 8.0-liter W16 to achieve an insane power-to-weight ratio, the Bolide is already the most extreme vehicle in Bugatti's automotive arsenal. Al Yasid of Yasid Design has dreamed up a concept that's even crazier by taking the track-only hypercar on rugged terrain, where it was never supposed to go.

The London-based automotive conceptualizer has rendered a couple different versions of his off-road 'Gatti. The craziest runs on tank treads and swaps the Bolide's racy blue paint coat for a metallic silver for duty on what appears to be a mineral mine.

"That was a fun one, since Nils Piirma Design sent me these tracks yesterday and I thought I’d quickly try it on something the least expected, and right now that's the Bolide," he captioned his work. "My other choice was a McLaren Speedtail."

His second Bolide gets massive Goodyear off-road tires (including a spare mounted below the quad-exhaust) and a gray and orange color scheme that harks back to the Veyron Super Sport. Even with the hulking rubber, Yasid admits that his creation "doesn't go off-road."

"The Devil's pre-runner," one commenter noted. "Imagine seeing this in Dakar," another wrote in reference to the infamously trying annual Dakar Rally endurance event.

If you're into Yasid's over-the-top car creations, there's are many more to enjoy via his Instagram page. Get a taster with his off-road Porsche 911, hot-rodded Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing, Chevrolet Camaro 3LT, GMC Hummer EV and others below:

If reading about the typical price points of 8K and 4K TVs is daunting—they are not inexpensive—then this should be a relief: TCL revealed for CES 2021 that they are coming out with a line of next-generation Mini-LED TVs affordable enough to promise the ultimate high-definition TV experience at home for just about anyone.

TCL's OD Zero is just one example. It comes with mini-LED backlight technology which the manufacturer claims will "greatly" increase "the number of Contrast Control Zones."

TCL can then reduce the LED footprint while providing "precision backlighting, smoothly distributed across the screen, for ultimate contrast and luminance." The net effect is vastly improved contrast and brightness.

Additionally, TCL has also announced its XL Collection, an impressive series of large (85") TVs available in 4K and 8K with both QLED and mini-LED displays.

Among the first to hit the market later in 2021 is the 85R435, a 4K set with an 85" screen that will retail for $1,599—which is still on the high side but considerably less, say, than this 2019 Samsung QLED which retailed for around $20,000 in 2018.

Super Wild Card Weekend gave us some of the craziest upsets and results in recent memory and the only thing that could have made it more fun to watch is if you won some money in the process. The NFL’s Divisional Round is now upon us and could be just as wacky, so let’s take that $500 bankroll and put it on HGH.

Haven’t tried sports betting before? The NFL Playoffs are the perfect time to start, as each team battles to stay alive and make the most of its chance at history. BetOnline makes the process quick and easy and will even boost your account with a $1,000 bonus if you join today.

As always, the odds featured below are courtesy of BetOnline.AG.

Best Bet

Out of the chaos of the Super Wild Card Weekend, we need to look at a few facts that came to light after the dust settled and Mike Tomlin smashed JuJu Smith-Schuster’s and Chase Claypool’s iPhones with a ball peen hammer.

 1. Of the six games, four road teams won.
 2. Two underdogs won outright and only two favorites, the Baltimore Ravens and New Orleans Saints, covered.
 3. We had four games go over on their totals. The two that hit the under (Ravens at Titans -54.5 and Bears at Saints -47) didn’t even come close.

So what does that mean for a Best Bet this week? Well, we’re still picking one, but this is the playoffs. The Washington Football Team nearly pulled off an upset starting a guy at QB they pulled off the grill at Fuddruckers a few weeks ago. Anything can happen.

But here’s the thing. If I have to hang my hat on any team, if I can look at the eight franchises left and feel like one thing is guaranteed, it’s this: The Kansas City Chiefs aren’t going to be one-and-done in the playoffs.

I don’t like the spread, Chiefs -10, because Kansas City hasn’t covered since Linus was stood up by The Great Pumpkin. The last time Baker Mayfield and Patrick Mahomes squared off it was in 2016 in college, with Mayfield claiming a 66-59 victory with Oklahoma over Mahomes’ Red Raiders from Texas Tech. The two teams set an FCS record with 1,708 combined yards of offense. Mahomes had 819 total offensive yards himself with 734 coming in the air. Mayfield threw seven touchdown passes. Combined, Mayfield and Mahomes passed for 1,279 yards, which set a new record for all of college football.

Will this one be that insane? Probably not. But we’ll talk about the over when we get to the parlay.

Pick: $250 on the Chiefs at -500 at BetOnline.AG

Teaser of the Week

Let’s talk about the Los Angeles Rams, who made us plenty of money in teasers this season. They brought the No. 1 defense in the NFL to the playoffs last week and completely dominated the Seattle Seahawks in a 30-20 victory. Russell Wilson, who was on track for an MVP in the early part of 2020, was sacked five times and completed just 11 passes.

It’s been a while, but twice before a defense like the Rams’ was brought into the playoffs. In 2000-01 it was the Baltimore Ravens. In 2002-03 it was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Both those teams had shaky QB situations, with the Ravens fielding Trent Dilfer. The Bucs had Brad Johnson, a decent NFL starter, but his closest brush with the Pro Football Hall of Fame will be getting his picture on the wall after downing a Triple Triple, a family fry and a 24-ounce drink in under 20 minutes at Schnab’s Burgers in Canton.

Secondly, as fun as it was to see Lamar Jackson win his first playoff game and the Baltimore Ravens to riverdance on the Tennessee Titans’ logo, the Buffalo Bills have been on a tear themselves over the last month. Quarterback Josh Allen isn’t in the MVP conversation with Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers and Mahomes, but he might be the third best QB in the league. The Bills are -1 favorites, but I don’t expect that line to sit there by kickoff, so let’s buy ourselves some room with a 06.0 teaser and do it quick.

I think Buffalo is going to win. I’m not so sure about the Rams, but I think it’ll be close.

Teaser pick: $200 on the Rams at +12.5 and the Bills at +5 at BetOnline.AG

Prop Bet of the Week

If last Saturday’s 27-24 loss to the Bills was Philip Rivers’ final NFL game, then he went out swinging. The Indianapolis Colts nearly pulled off an upset in a game I didn’t think would be close and were in it right until the final whistle. There was a highlight reel of drops too for Indy that will be tough not to think about all through the offseason.

Rivers finished up 27 of 46 for 309 yards and two touchdowns. After the game, Rivers didn’t commit to returning and for a guy his age, 39, with an obvious future in broadcasting if he wants it. Head coach Frank Reich says the team wants Rivers back, but if the Colts aren’t close to a Super Bowl (and they’re not), there’s not a lot of incentive for Rivers to do that unless he just wants to steer clear of his nine kids on Sundays.

I think he hangs up his spurs, grabs a mic and spends the next decade in the booth.

Pick: $40 on Philip Rivers to Retire at -200 at BetOnline.AG

The Crazy, Longshot, Throwing-a-Dart Parlay of the Week

Can’t you feel the weight of my stare? You’re so close, but still a world away. What I’m dying to say is that I’m crazy for this parlay.

We studied our trends from last week and we’re going to use them to try to score a nice little pile of cheddar here while we still have eight teams alive and kicking.

The last two times the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints played, the Bucs scored 23 and 3. Their total is 52. The Packers have had a week off and that’s not always a good thing, especially facing a battle hardened team with the top defense in the league. That game’s total is 45.5.

We’ve already talked about the last time Mayfield and Mahomes met up. That over/under is 56 and the Ravens and Bills are sitting at a modest 50.

We’re putting the Chiefs moneyline we already like with the Bills moneyline (-137), Rams at Packers under, Ravens at Bills over, Browns at Chiefs over and Bucs at Saints under, and we’re taking our last good shot.

A $10 parlay bet on those teams and totals pays $263.34 at BetOnline.AG

<![CDATA[Meet The Playboy Model Rejected by Bumble Dating App for Being 'Too Hot']]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=news/model-rejected-by-bumble-for-being-too-hothttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=news/model-rejected-by-bumble-for-being-too-hotThu, 14 Jan 2021 12:01:00 GMT

Tahlia Paris really is too hot to handle, at least according to Bumble moderators. The 24-year-old LA-based model and former Playboy Cybergirl of the Year created an account on the popular dating app after a four-year stretch without a romantic relationship.

Paris claims that she then received an email from Bumble after some of photos were removed from her profile. She concluded that the reason for removal must be those photos were "too hot," as they "did not" break the guidelines.

“I was on the app for not even a few hours because pictures I tried posting to my profile were removed even though they were normal photos,” Tahlia told UK tabloid The Mirror. "It happened three or four times to different pictures and Bumble only allowed one of my pictures to stay up, which was really hurting my odds in the dating app world."

However, Bumble cited "shirtless bathroom mirror selfies," adding that it "prohibits photos of people indoors wearing swimsuits or underwear," according to Mirror.

"In 2016, we banned shirtless bathroom mirror selfies in response to feedback from our Bumble community" a company spokesperson said, "and after our research showed that profiles including those kinds of photos were the most swiped left on."

Though Paris posts racy content on OnlyFans and Instagram—where she has over 910,000 followers—she insists that the Bumble photos were "very PG."

“The photos I posted very were basic. One was a selfie of myself, one was a picture a friend of mine had taken at the beach," she continued. "I tried to keep it very PG and not model-esque at all."

Paris went on to describe that she just wants to come across as "as another average girl looking to date," and even kept her Instagram private at the time so potential suitors don't get the wrong idea.

"I’ve had guys in the past solely try to hook up with me because of my presence on social media. When turned down, a few of their responses were like ‘but wait, you model for Playboy’ – as if that was something that made it easier to have sex with me.”

The other motivation for Paris' online dating foray was brought on by the coronavirus pandemic, which has made it difficult to meet people in traditional physical settings.

“Online dating has never really been something I’m into but in these circumstances, I thought I’d try it and it didn’t work out. Maybe it’s for the best."

"For now I’m at a stand-still with dating sadly, but hopefully things will open soon so I can get back out into the normal dating world.”

In 1996, the first production Porsche Boxsters hit showrooms, attracting customers with a relatively accessible price and a catchy portmanteau of the words "boxer"—as in the German marque's longstanding boxer flat-six—and "roadster." The newly announced Boxster 25 Years marks a quarter-century of success for Porsche's entry-level sports car.

In accordance with its silver anniversary, the eye-catching convertible gets GT Silver Metallic base coat (though Deep Black Metallic and Carrera White Metallic are also on the table). Serendipitously, this is same color that appeared on the 1993 public unveiling of the Boxster concept car at the Detroit Motor Show.

"Neodyme,"a copper-like shimmering brown, helps bring contrast on the two-tone 20-inch rims, front apron, side air intakes and "25" badging. The fuel filler cap gets Porsche script from the Exclusive Design range, matching the high-gloss sports exhaust pipes. A windshield surround finished in contrasting black and a red fabric soft top embossed with "Boxster 25 lettering" round out the exterior.

Like the top, the interior is styled after the original Boxster with a rich Bordeaux red leather, as well as a brushed aluminum appearance package, 14-way electrically adjustable sports seats, door sill trims with “Boxster 25" lettering and a heated GT multifunction sports leather steering wheel.

The Boxster 25 Years gets the same powerplant as the 718 Boxster GTS 4.0. The naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six cranks out 394 horsepower through either a seven-speed dual-clutch or a six-speed manual. With higher-performance former tranny and standard Sport Chrono package, it'll hit 60 mph in 4.0 seconds on its way to 182 mph.

The Porsche Boxster 25 Years is available to order now from $98,600, which is about $10,000 more than the 718 Boxster GTS 4.0.

<![CDATA[Investor With Digital Wallet Containing $220 Million in Bitcoin Forgets Password]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=news/investor-with-digital-wallet-220-million-passwordhttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=news/investor-with-digital-wallet-220-million-passwordWed, 13 Jan 2021 16:52:56 GMT

Imagine you realized you had $220 million in assets and all you needed was a password set a few years ago. Now imagine that you can't quite recall the password correctly and if you enter it wrong too many times, you will lose that massive amount of money forever.

That's the painful conundrum facing San Francisco-based programmer, Stefan Thomas, an early Bitcoin investor who the New York Times reports could be a multimillionaire right now...but for the password.

More details from the Times:

The password will let him unlock a small hard drive, known as an IronKey, which contains the private keys to a digital wallet that holds 7,002 Bitcoin. While the price of Bitcoin dropped sharply on Monday, it is still up more than 50 percent from just a month ago, when it passed its previous all-time high of around $20,000.

The problem is that Mr. Thomas years ago lost the paper where he wrote down the password for his IronKey, which gives users 10 guesses before it seizes up and encrypts its contents forever. He has since tried eight of his most commonly used password formulations — to no avail.

Anyone who has ever realized they needed information that might be in an old email account knows this kind of frustration, but with this much money involved it has to be so much worse than being prevented from finding an old email containing an address or account number.

Thomas definitely sounds frustrated. He tells the Times, “I would just lay in bed and think about it. Then I would go to the computer with some new strategy, and it wouldn’t work, and I would be desperate again.”

He isn't the only person with this problem. The Times reports that out of the "existing 18.5 million Bitcoin, around 20 percent — currently worth around $140 billion — appear to be in lost or otherwise stranded wallets."

Stefan Thomas has plenty of money from Bitcoin he did manage to keep hold of, and he has stored his locked drive "in a secure facility" until cryptographers can come up with a way to crack passwords, though he said he is trying to tell himself to just let the past be the past and essentially not worry about it.

On Wednesday morning Bitcoin was still below its record of $40,000 USD per BTC but on the rise again. Maybe now would be a good time to put your own BTC password in a readily accessible safe deposit box—because who knows where cryptocurrency will go from here.

<![CDATA[Oakley's New Reusable Tactical Face Mask Won't Fog Your Glasses]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=gear/oakley-msk3https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=gear/oakley-msk3Wed, 13 Jan 2021 16:20:59 GMT

Considering the U.S. just reported its highest daily number of Covid-19-related deaths, mask-wearing mandates aren't going away anytime soon. But if you want to upgrade your mask game, Oakley's new MSK3 just might fit the bill.

The blacked-out facial covering is designed to keep wearers safe "in higher exposure situations" via a disposable filter with with more than 95 percent filtration efficiency of particles down to size of 0.3 microns. A reusable filter provides "protection against air pollutants and dust particles," though it's important to note that the MSK3 is not a medical device capable of filtering out coronavirus particles, which measure about .12 microns in diameter.

But the Oakley mask's most exciting feature is an eyewear channel upon which a pair of eyeglasses or sunglasses can rest naturally on the face, preventing the supremely annoying lens fogging that afflicts pretty much everyone who tries to wear a mask with glasses. A flexible, durable silicone outer gasket is designed with an ergonomic fit for a close seal, while adjustable straps help to create a customized fit.

The mask's sleek black colorway and streamlined shape give the MSK3 a striking tactical look that stands out even among the most stylish face masks on the market.

Pricing and a release date has yet to be announced, but you can track the MSK3’s availability via Oakley's online store.

<![CDATA[The CIA Has Released a Massive Trove of UF0 Documents That Are Now Available To the Public]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=news/cia-releases-ufo-data-to-publichttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=news/cia-releases-ufo-data-to-publicWed, 13 Jan 2021 13:53:29 GMT

Unidentified objects in the sky aren't new, but the UFO as we know it now—a mysterious, saucer-shaped object—first came into focus in the 1940s. The U.S. government had no choice but to investigate reports about them; the second World War had ended and the Cold War was revving up, so strange things in the sky could be some kind of threat.

Many UFO reports likely remain secret still, but the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has surprisingly released what the American government's spy shop says is all its files on UFOs, and you can see them here on a website run by John Greenewald Jr. in the form of searchable PDFs: The Black Vault.

Greenewald told Vice's Motherboard what went into his acquisition of the files:

According to Greenewald, around 10,000 Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) reports were required to obtain the PDFs and the process was an excruciatingly long one. He scanned the documents by hand.

“Around 20 years ago, I had fought for years to get additional UFO records released from the CIA,” Greenewald said in an email to Motherboard. “It was like pulling teeth! I went around and around with them to try and do so, finally achieving it. I received a large box, of a couple thousand pages, and I had to scan them in one page at a time.”

Don't think the CIA suddenly cares about transparency, though—that's not their thing. In the blog post introducing the records, Greenewald writes that "the CIA claims this is their 'entire' collection," but "there may be no way to entirely verify that."

CIA real x-files

And what's in there? Scans of carefully redacted documents in which people reported events like watching some kind of USSR-Canada sporting event only to step outside and see some kind of "green circular object or mass in the sky." Or a translated article from a Chilean magazine about "flying discs."

There's also this: A 1952 Air Force declaration of their official stance on UFOs in which they declared that flying discs were not U.S. or Soviet "secret weapons," or "Extra-terrestrial visitors."

And creepily, there are stories, too, like the one about mystery explosions heard in an out-of-the-way Russian town or the document in the Black Vault's tweet above, in which the CIA's "Assistant Deputy Director for Science & Technology (A/DDS&T) was shown SOMETHING related to a UFO that was hand carried to him." It isn't clear as to what that was or what the Director said about it, but it's damn intriguing.

Are there answers as to what's out there to be found in those files? There are too many to say at the moment, but they will certainly provide plenty of fodder to fire imaginations—and for all we know, Hollywood adaptations—for years to come.

<![CDATA[Joy Corrigan On Sex Appeal and Working With Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=entertainment/joy-corrigan-mag-feature-jan-feb-2021https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=entertainment/joy-corrigan-mag-feature-jan-feb-2021Wed, 13 Jan 2021 12:00:00 GMT

Just in the nick of time, Victoria’s Secret model Joy Corrigan left New York and moved to Newport Beach in Southern California right before the pandemic. Now, instead of being holed up through the winter in some dim apartment, she’s by the shore at least a few times a week for a run, a walk or just to sun herself.

And that means that yes, you actually might find yourself walking down the beach one day and stumble upon a lingerie model in a bikini, one who has graced magazine covers—and never mind the nude shots taken on a weekend getaway in Palm Springs and posted on her Instagram page where she has 680,000 followers and counting.

“I love to be sexy and I love to show skin ‘cause I work out really hard to get the body that I have. I’ve always been very free-spirited about it,” she tells us about posing sans clothing. “I try to keep every shot I do very classy and a visual showcase of the beauty of what a woman can look like. That’s my goal.”

Mission accomplished. Her other goals include a gradual shift to the big screen, having played bit parts in Aftermath with Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2017 and, a year later, Reprisal, starring Bruce Willis.

“He shows up to set and he gets the shot,” she says of her veteran co-star. “It takes a lot of actors many, many takes. He just seemed to have the confidence he was able to get the shot and move on.”

If that sounds like a minimalist effort by Willis, Schwarzenegger has him beat. “With Arnold, the way he works is he likes to show up right before and then leave right after,” she explains about The Terminator star.

“He’s not trying to stick around. But he’s that good that he’s able to do that. He pretty much filmed the majority of his scenes in one day and I was blown away by that.”

It wasn’t supposed to be this way for a girl like Corrigan. She grew up on a backwoods farm in North Carolina, one of ten children. Around her were livestock, her siblings, and the field and forest for playing. But nothing in her environment hinted at the type of life the 25-year-old beauty has led.

“I would never have dreamed I would be where I’m at today. I knew there was something else, and something bigger, but I had no idea what it was. I just knew I had to get out of that town, and as soon as I was old enough I moved. I love my family, but I realized there’s more out there,” she explains.

Scouted in a mall in Raleigh, North Carolina, at the age of 14, she soon moved to Miami to pursue a career in modeling that has taken her to destinations throughout Europe, Australia, South Africa, and then New York City where she lived before her current home in SoCal.

And if you do bump into her on that beach in Newport, just remember she’s unmarried and she likes her men smart and funny. “Any guy that loves to challenge me, whether it’s in boxing or chess or running. That competitive side of a guy to push me, I think it’s so attractive. If a guy can beat me at chess, they’ve already passed a certain point.”

Turn-offs include taking yourself too seriously, and lewd comments on social media. “These people don’t know me. They’re not talking to me, they’re talking to the image of me. I ignore them, mostly. What gives me confidence is having people in my life that love me and encourage me, but also tell me when I’m screwing up.”

No doubt her devoutly religious family thought she was “screwing up” at first, but they eventually came around. “I would go to church every Sunday and every Wednesday and we weren’t allowed to wear skirts above our knees,” Corrigan recalls about her strict upbringing.

“But there was a part of me that wanted to be free and show the world I can be sexy. At first my mom was like, ‘what are you doing?!’ They weren’t too proud of me ‘cause they didn’t get that I wanted to show my body and promote feeling sexy as a woman. Now they’re proud of their daughter. Now it’s like, ‘Joy’s naked again.’”

With travel restrictions still in place, she hasn’t been doing too much modeling, so her focus has been on acting, studying with producers and coaches on a regular basis, and more recently auditioning for bigger roles in prominent productions.

“With acting there’s so much more preparation, scene study, reading the script and getting to know the character. The hours, weeks and months of prep for a role, that, for me, is exciting,” she says, content with the progress she’s made.

“When I first started acting there were things I had no idea about, being a model, like you’re not supposed to ever look into the camera. When you’re modeling, all you’re supposed to do is look into the camera. So that was a little confusing at first.”

But Corrigan likes a challenge, and 2021 is bound to be full of them. “We need to conquer COVID, if that’s even possible. But somehow we’ve got to get it under control because we’ve really been shaken up in the last year,” she says, looking forward to the new one.

“And bring equality to every single person no matter their race or color, bring the whole nation together and unite everyone.”

<![CDATA[The 1967 Ford Mustang GT500 'Eleanor' From 'Gone in 60 Seconds' Is for Sale]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=rides/ford-mutang-gt500-eleanor-gone-in-60-secondshttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=rides/ford-mutang-gt500-eleanor-gone-in-60-secondsWed, 13 Jan 2021 11:18:00 GMT

Many Ford Mustangs have starred in movies, whether it be the 1969 Fastback in John Wick or the 1968 Shelby GT500 in The Thomas Crown Affair. But the most famous silver-screen 'Stang is without a doubt the 1967 Shelby GT500 reimagined by designer Chip Foose to create an almost mythological muscle car named Eleanor for the 2000 remake of Gone in 60 Seconds.

Though 11 total vehicles were equipped by Cinema Vehicle Services (CVS) for the high-octane heist movie, Germany's Chrome Cars is selling one of three surviving "hero" models, i.e. the particularly stunning high-performance GT500s featured in scenes with stars including Nicholas Cage and Angelina Jolie.

Under the hood is Ford's 400-horsepower cubic-inch (or 5.8-liter) small-block V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission. As a hero car, this Eleanor was also equipped with a nine-inch Lincoln rear axle, a suspension upgraded with a better coilovers and wishbones, rack-and-pinion power steering, and stabilizers from Total Control Products.

Chrome Cars team member and Mustang expert Chris Zollner adds that the pipes are a key defining feature of the 60 Seconds hero cars, as CVS replaced the dummy exhaust after production was completed.

“They resorted to the BORLA double pipe systems including silencers, which even back then were hardly available. Today this system is an important distinguishing feature of a real hero car," Zollner said "Shapes, contours, proportions and the overall appearance of the real vehicles are much more harmonious, classy, coherent and elegant than the replicas."

Even with 72,815 miles on the odometer, don't be surprised if Chrome Cars quotes a $1 million-plus price tag upon inquiry, as this very model fetched that much at a Mecum auction in 2013.

The audiophile these days has listening options aplenty on the go, but there’s something to be said for an immersive sound experience that you can can enjoy at home. It’s even better if said listening experience is delivered with crystal-clear sound quality and an historical homage all at once, a la the 75th Anniversary JBL SA750 Integrated Amplifier.

It’s one of the coolest audio releases we’ve seen in some time, nodding to two groundbreaking JBL amplifiers from the 60s and 70s while featuring a milled aluminum front and richly crafted teak-wood sides. Don’t worry, because the rest of the specs are on-point, to say the least. The two-line orange text display is as retro as it gets, as are the old-school dials and switches, and of course, the high-output Class G amplification technology ensures crisp, rich sound.

It’s a listenable work of art, and the kind that any serious audiophile can appreciate. Keep your eyes peeled when it hits the market this April for $3,000 via JBL. This latest release also matches up quite stylishly with the just-announced JBL L100 Classic 75 loudspeakers, which also feature refined teak-wood construction.

Taken altogether, it’s an exceedingly handsome way to enjoy your favorite tracks old and new, whether streaming an iconic indie station or paying homage to David Bowie’s best. It’s compatible with streaming options like Apple AirPlay 2 and also includes the option to play files from a USB drive.

Naturally, the JBL SA750 includes an Aux input and a 3.5-mm headphone output, ideal for when you feel like getting up close and personal with a live reissue by The Replacements, for instance.

Seriously, whatever your heart desires from your next at-home listening experience, we’re confident the JBL SA750 Integrated Amplifier can fulfill your wildest dreams; it’s almost like being there, and for now, that’ll have to do.

<![CDATA[This Outrageous 1,500-HP Hybrid Hypercar Is Hell on Wheels]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=rides/koenigsegg-regera-gooding-and-companyhttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=rides/koenigsegg-regera-gooding-and-companyTue, 12 Jan 2021 17:00:28 GMT

Swedish hypercar maker Koenigsegg epitomizes the quality-over-quantity philosophy, which explains why all 80 planned Regeras sold out almost immediately after the model was first introduced at the Geneva Autoshow in 2015. Even the base car car runs for $2.2 million, but this one-of-a-kind edition headed to the block at Gooding & Company's online-only Scottsdale auction has been totally tricked out with more than $700,000 (!) worth of options.

Offered with just 369 miles driven by the original owner, this 2020 Regera sports non-metallic Battle Grey over a Desiato Black interior extensively accented with bare carbon fiber. An exclusive Ghost Package—named for the eerie apparition featured on all of Koenigsegg's cars—offers revised aerodynamics that add 20 percent more downforce, while exterior carbon fiber air intakes, a roof pane, hood, Speedster Sides, and inner rockers further distinguish an already-standout ride. Rounding out the all-out specs are Koenigsegg’s own Tresex Aircore carbon fiber wheels, which reduce unsprung weight and improve aerodynamics.

The Regera’s pioneering propulsion system combines a twin-turbo V8 with three electric motors via Koenigsegg Direct Drive—a power-delivery system that completely replaces the car’s transmission by placing an electric motor on the 1,100-horsepower engine's crankshaft and drives the differential directly through a fluid coupler. An 800-volt electric battery brings total output up to 1,500 horsepower even when running on E85 gas, thanks to an Environmental Power Upgrade.

“This is a remarkable consignment and one of the first Regeras ever to be sold at public auction,” states Gooding & Company president and founder David Gooding. “Along with this incredibly desirable Koenigsegg, our Geared Online Scottsdale Edition sale has a diverse selection of collector cars that will appeal to many enthusiasts.”

With a $2.75-$3.5 million pre-sale estimate, this 2020 Koenigsegg Regera usurps a 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB Long Nose as the crown jewel of Gooding & Co.'s Scottsdale event. Click here to register to bid before the event kicks off on January 18.

<![CDATA['Goodfellas' Trending After Funny Viral Video Of Capitol Hill Riot Arrests is Set to 'Layla']]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=entertainment/goodfellas-trends-after-viral-video-capitol-hill-arrestshttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=entertainment/goodfellas-trends-after-viral-video-capitol-hill-arrestsTue, 12 Jan 2021 16:53:13 GMT

There is a widespread bipartisan feeling that the January 6, Washington, DC political rally for supporters of President Trump—which turned into a violent insurrection at the Capitol building, endangering members of Congress and causing the deaths of five people—was a supremely dangerous moment in American history.

So, it was also a very serious moment—at least until the internet got involved. Apparently, even footage of authorities arresting rioters at airports, with the arrestees freaking out and incredulous that they were in trouble, can become a hilarious video online.

In the viral compilation clip above (note: some of the arrests were people who refused to wear anti-COVID-19 masks, so not riot-related but part of the same political ideology), the addition of the piano breakdown from Eric Clapton's "Layla" not only adds a dark comedy element but it is also a solid nod to Martin Scorsese's 1990 masterpiece Goodfellas, which famously used the same music in a four-minute montage—as a result, the movie's title was trending on social media for a good part of the day on Monday, Jan. 11.

In the Goodfellas montage, Ray Liotta’s Henry Hill narrates scenes of events after the Lufthansa heist, a real crime that happened in 1978 at JFK International Airport. The caper netted Hill's pal Jimmy Conway (Robert De Niro) and accomplices $5 million. The accomplices, however, went crazy with the money, and Conway, afraid their spending would get police attention, began having everyone knocked off.

So the Goodfellas footage ironically contrasts the dreamy Clapton instrumental over scenes of blood-soaked dead henchmen in cars and getting dumped with the garbage.

Using the same song for the arrest videos is some pretty sharp satire, as it highlights one thing the arrested "domestic terrorists" seemed to have in common with the dead mobsters: an apparent feeling they'd never have to answer for anything they did.

Of course, the arrest video produced its own spinoffs, like the one above from Instagram-savvy comedian Kyle Dunnigan.

Dunnigan went the extra mile, however, with a deepfake-style Ray Liotta digital mask and a Liotta-like voiceover. The overall effect of Dunnigan's video has a creepy edge not found in the original, but it's still laugh-out-loud funny.

In the meme-making here there's a certain amount of everyone whistling past the graveyard, as the mood in the US is still tense, despite the considerable blowback against the rioters as well as the administration of the outgoing president, Donald Trump.

As more and more people are vaccinated against COVID-19 and the government changes hands, it may be that a lot of things, even these already very funny videos, will seem even easier to laugh about.

<![CDATA[Salmon Fishing, Bear Safaris and Cloud-Hopping in the Alaskan Wilderness]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=travel/salmon-falls-resorthttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=travel/salmon-falls-resortTue, 12 Jan 2021 13:00:00 GMT

We’re in a de Havilland Beaver bush plane flying high over ancient glacier-carved fjords, the only sound in the six-seater the thrum of a single-engine prop. A hypnotic soundtrack as we skim just over an Alaskan peak, the rocky outcroppings crowned in wisps of stubborn fog. A pond atop the mountain glistens in the morning light of the Misty Fjords National Monument, an area so remote it’s accessible only by boat or floatplane.

It would take a man weeks to hike up to any of the endless summits that make up the stunning 2.2 million acre park, meaning the green and cool lake below is as pristine and unsullied by human hands as it was during the last ice age. Nothing more than a dark puddle for wandering giants. The further we float north splotches of white snow start peppering tree tops and naked granite. Or are those mountain goats?

“OK, we’re gonna try to land ahead,” crackles the voice over the headphones, “as long as the fog doesn’t get too bad.” Joe the pilot pushes the de Havilland’s yoke forward and heads straight towards what looks like the top of a mountain, to the source of a waterfall so tall and breath-stealing Bob Ross couldn’t have imagined it, no matter how many happy little clouds he inhaled.

As we zoom just over its crest an expansive lake opens up before us, the perfect landing strip for this pontooned craft. Everyone’s eyes are bugging out of their sockets, hearts skipping as we glide along the water, make contact, relax the engine and slowly come to a skimming stop. “Welcome to Big Goat Lake,” says Joe, smiling to no one in particular. “We’re about 2,000 feet above sea level right now.”

There’s something about these floatplanes that embodies adventure. The fat pontoons, the high-set wings, the rudimentary single prop, the endless sense of exploration beyond the edges of civilization—and nowhere do they seem more organic than here in Alaska, America’s last great frontier. We gingerly disembark from the plane as it brushes against a small island in the middle of the lake, get out and open our lungs. The air smells like dank life. Someone pops a bottle of champagne; we perch on a moss-covered rock, sip and listen to the sounds of silence.

A couple hours later we’ll be sitting in the Timbers restaurant-cum-lodge at the Salmon Falls Resort reminiscing about this moment. While drinking ice cold Denali Brewing Mother Ales and slurping oysters harvested in the frigid waters nearby, we will return wistfully to our bubbling champagne flutes in the wild. But here and now the moment is meditative, like many we will experience over the coming days.

This week marks the end of an extended summer season for Ketchikan, Alaska’s famed “First City.” A weird season for all but especially quiet in these outer regions. Built on the shores of Revillagigedo Island to offer a remote jump-off point for anglers of every stripe, Salmon Falls Resort has taken on an entirely new level of appeal in these times.

Alaska was already inherently imagined for social distancing, ocean fishing even more so. Whether you’re in the lodge, hiking nearby trails, or out in the famed Inner Passage throwing baited lines, natural space is the 49th state’s ultimate luxury. Add the fact that everyone who flies into Alaska has currently to provide a clean COVID-19 test taken at most 72 hours before arrival. In these anxious times, Salmon Falls offers a type of deep peace that is sadly all too rare in our zeitgeist. You don’t have to be on a remote fjord lake a couple thousand feet above sea level or on a fishing boat in the middle of nowhere to feel this peace, but it certainly doesn’t hurt.

Constructed over three decades ago, the resort itself breathes a classic Pacific Northwest frontier vibe. The Timbers plays hub to the 51- room hotel—its vaulted ceiling, wood structure, and wall of windows looking out to the water all lend the place a decidedly Twin Peaks aura. A length of thick black piping holding up the cathedral roof is an actual piece of the Alaska Pipeline, which the original owner helped build in the ’70s. Bellying up to the bar after a long day out in the water or hiking through the damp forest offers that rare type of closure that only a warm, dry fireplace at the edge of the world can.

The day after our flight the adventure continues, but this time we swap the high-wing de Havilland Beaver for a Riddle Marine ocean fishing boat outfitted with twin 200-hp Honda outboard engines. James Bond’s 19th film The World Is Not Enough featured 007 speeding around the Thames shooting missiles at baddies from a Riddle—the pride of Lewiston, Idaho. But that was a sleek one-seat sprint boat; this 27-footer makes for a much better vessel to conquer the choppy water we hit as we work our way across the Behm Canal towards Vallner Bay, a 300-foot deep canyon famed for its concentration of halibut.

During peak runs the salmon in these parts is legendary—Ketchikan’s title of Salmon Capital of the World is well earned, where Chinook, Pink, Chum and Sockeye are added to the bounty of Coho—but that’s hardly where the possibilities end. Prehistoric rockfish, giant halibut, sea bass and black cod will all be baited and caught this afternoon.

“People think Alaska all looks the same, and it sort of does. But it’s like looking at a fire; it relaxes you,” explains our captain Mike Bunker. “You can stare at a fire forever and never get bored. That’s Alaska.” An amicable ex-Hugo Boss model who now spends half the year leading fishing expeditions here in the Alexander Archipelago, Mike mentions how several groups have already come back three times this season. “This is where you want to be,” he motions from the stern of the boat, arms outstretched. “People have been stuck inside for months, masks on. They come here and… look around.” Dark green islands rise on either side, untouched pine forests sprawling as far as the eye can see. Behind us the grey water stretches free to the horizon.

Even on a rough day that keeps us from open water we catch our limit of halibut and cod. Upon return to the dock we dump our aquatic loot, and expert Salmon Falls workers filet, vacuum seal and freeze all our fish for easy carrying home. I can honestly say I’ve rarely been more popular than arriving at friends’ homes with pounds of fresh, spectacularly juicy halibut ready for taco-ification (or grilled fillets, if that’s more your thing).

Of course there’s more to southeast Alaska than just fishing. On what they dub a “bear safari,” we take a boat out to Margaret Creek where our guide warns us these enormous predators are known to roam. After an hour hike we end up at the bubbling brook, and sure enough spot a bear—black as the Alaskan winter midnight—scouring for the last of the coho heading upstream to spawn and die.

On the inlet on the way back we pass twin orcas hunting in shallow water, and a little later a family of mammoth sea lions splashing in amusement—a living menagerie of rare aquatic specimens. Just outside of our room we photograph a bald eagle’s nest; from the expansive windows of the Timbers, the raptor can often be seen scouring his territory atop a towering pine.

On our last day we decide to finally take photos of the resort’s eponymous waterfall, wide and grand like an Ansel Adams photogravure print. A subsequent walk on the dock affords an unexpected surprise: a pod of humpback whales bubble-net feeding—a clever technique wherein these glorious giants circle a school of fish and blow air from their blowholes, surrounding their prey in a corral of bubbles.

They then rise through the water in a reverse bobbing-for-apples routine swallowing gallons of fish, their enormous white bellies breaching the water with a low groan. Splash. One can only watch the creatures spellbound, just another reminder before we return to the smog and concrete and stupid politics of our time, that a place like this still exists—a vast, open-air zoo where the world remains free.

<![CDATA[Meet The Insane Amphibious Yacht That Crawls on Sand Like a Crab]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=rides/lazzarini-design-pagurushttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=rides/lazzarini-design-pagurusTue, 12 Jan 2021 12:02:00 GMT

Lazzarini Design's latest concept yacht might be its most ambitious project yet, and that should mean something to anyone who's seen the Rome-based studio's Vespa-like jet ski and rocket-shaped F33 Spazziale speed boat

The "Pagurus"—Latin for "crab"—is an 82-foot amphibious superyacht with a carbon fiber shell inspired by the namesake crustacean. As Robb Report notes, the key to its land-traversing capability lies in its twin hulls, which house what are essentially four giant 21-foot-long steel screws. When beached, the helical screws—each powered by a 440-hp diesel engine—begin turning, biting into the ground and dragging the watercraft up the shore.

“It would be the ultimate explorer yacht, with the ability to take you on to land as well as sea,” Pierpaolo Lazzarini told Robb Report. He originally imagined the Pagurus as a military vehicle, but reworked the design with cabins for eight for the luxury yacht market.

Admittedly, the amphibious design is only practical for pulling the Pagurus completely out of the water, not for traveling extended distances across land. But just as traditional yachts have smaller tender vehicles aboard, the Pagurus can store a 4x4, such as the pictured Tesla Cybertruck

“We imagined that it could be stowed on a platform between the hulls and lowered down on winches to the ground. The same platform could be used to hold a couple of electric Tesla Cyberquad ATVs, or snowmobiles,” Lazzarini said. Any roadgoing vehicle could be supported, but an EV makes the most sense, as there are solar panel banks embedded in the hulls' decks.

When seafaring, a pair of 900-horsepower Caterpillar diesels are capable of pushing the catamaran to a top speed of 25 knots, or about 29 mph. The screws can also be rotated underwater via electricity to cruise at 5 knots, or about 6 mph.

The Pagurus concept could be brought to fruition for $30 million. Another lighter-weight version without the screw-drive technology and a higher top speed of 32 knots (37 mph) would run for $8 million.

<![CDATA[Jennifer Lopez Shows Off 'Beach Bum' in New Bikini Photo]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=entertainment/jennifer-lopez-beach-bum-photohttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=entertainment/jennifer-lopez-beach-bum-photoTue, 12 Jan 2021 12:01:00 GMT

We're barely two weeks into 2021, but Jennifer Lopez has already provided even more reasons for fans to follow her on Instagram.

Perhaps the most compelling is her clever redefinition of the phrase "beach bum." The 51-year-old pop superstar and actress' sand-covered derriere and killer body were on display in a fuchsia Brazilian-style high-waisted bikini, while a matching Christian Dior bucket hat elevated the cheeky look.

Sailor Brinkley Cook, the model daughter of veteran supe Christie Brinkley, liked the post, while J.Lo's 138 million followers sounded off in the comments.

"THE MOST PERFECT BODY IN THE WHOLE WORLD," one wrote before a string of "fire" emojis. "The Real Queen," said another.

Another more recent post featured two photos: one of the "In the Morning" singer rocking a green one-piece on a paddle board, and another in which she's bundled up in a floral North Face coat.

"How last week started, how it’s going this week," she captioned the post, seemingly in reference to the political turmoil that arose after the U.S. Capitol was invaded by protesters.

Lopez's figure doesn't come without hard work, as evidenced by this photo of her hitting a chest fly in a white crop top.

"Monday morning!! Let’s get it!!!" Lopez wrote. We'll take that piece of #MondayMotivation any day of the week.

<![CDATA[Semi-Automatic Pistol Vs. Revolver Debate Finally Solved by Firearms Expert]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=gear/concealed-carry-revolver-vs-semi-autohttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=gear/concealed-carry-revolver-vs-semi-autoTue, 12 Jan 2021 12:00:00 GMT

In states where it's not legal to openly carry a firearm, gun owners need to obtain a concealed carry license if they want to arm themselves outside their homes. By definition, said firearm needs to be carried in "such a manner as to not be discernible by the ordinary observation of a passerby," which practically rules out every option except a compact or subcompact handgun

But even with that narrow purview, there's still a major decision to be made: Should one pack a semi-automatic pistol or a revolver? The former offers higher cartridge capacity per load in a more modern design, but the latter's simple action offers nearly infallible reliability in a lightweight platform under normal conditions.

Matt E., an editor at the The Firearm Blog, recently penned a detailed article on this very subject, beginning with the pros of a semi-autoutmatic pistol. The capacity offered by an integral box magazine generally matches or exceeds the capacity of a four-, six- or eight-shot revolver—Matt notes that the today's double-stack mags provide round counts in the double digits. But he also describes a second, slightly less obvious advantage to the semi-auto:

Little micros like the [Sig Sauer] P365 are very enjoyable to shoot and it’s very possible to take it out for a full day of shooting at the range...In the past, there were typically two types of semi-auto handguns: small concealable handguns and guns that were enjoyable to shoot at the range. With the new modern offerings on the market, these two categories have now joined into one. This is possible with the addition of larger magazines and better recoil systems in the modern semi-autos.

Meanwhile, the simplicity of revolvers offers two distinct advantages—they are both reliable and easy to use. Even a brand new shooter with zero experience can point and fire (though anyone who carries should be practicing regularly at the range). Here are a couple more of Matt's thoughts on points for the revolver:

Having something like a Smith & Wesson 642 with a self-contained hammer is great for having a snag free pocket pistol. If you need to wear formal clothing or just want to have a lazy day, a pocket revolver is perfect. One of the big drawbacks with having a high capacity micro [semi-auto pistol] is that it can sometimes have a little bit of weight to it when carrying in the pocket.

When it comes to drawbacks, the semi-auto pistol requires a rack of the slide to chamber the first round, which isn't necessarily intuitive for a newbie. Hammer-fired semi-autos like the Sig Sauer P2022 (this author's CCW) have entirely different trigger pulls depending on whether the hammer is cocked to fire in single-action or the hammer is down to fire in double-action.

Matt also discusses real-world scenarios in which the semi-auto design can cause problems:

If you’re too close to the attacker the slide can be pushed out of battery not letting the gun fire. Now on the contrary, if you’re too close to your body it may be possible to snag the recoiling slide on your clothing causing a malfunction.

The clear drawback to the revolver is limited capacity. And while they're plenty reliable when properly cleaned, most revolvers are much more susceptible to the elements because of the exposed cylinder. As Matt notes,

If you throw something like [a Smith & Wesson 642] into mud or sand, it will have serious issues firing and can sometimes throw the timing off making it incredibly dangerous. Something like a Glock won’t have the same issues and won’t have a catastrophic failure like a revolver will. I know this may seem like an unlikely circumstance, but throughout various tests I’ve conducted with a number of revolvers, it doesn’t take much to create a stoppage in the cylinder.

Ultimately, Matt picks the semi-automatic pistol over the revolver. Which weapon would you carry?

<![CDATA[How This Former Special Ed Teacher Became a Top OnlyFans Creator]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=news/how-courtney-tillia-became-a-top-onlyfans-creatorhttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=news/how-courtney-tillia-became-a-top-onlyfans-creatorTue, 12 Jan 2021 10:00:00 GMT

Courtney Tillia has gone from grading papers to making paper. The former special education teacher traded her lowly education salary for an easy six-figure income generated by her racy OnlyFans feed.

“I make four times the annual income I would make as a teacher,” the 33-year-old Arizona native told the New York Post. “I’ve been making even more money during the pandemic because people are just stuck home wanting to enjoy my content.”

Tillia, who holds a master's degree in special education, described being in a "dark place" before making finding internet model stardom.

“I‘d been teaching special needs students at an alternative school in Phoenix for six years,” she said. “I suddenly found myself in a really dark place. I was beginning to hate my job and that darkness began spilling over into other areas of my life," she said, adding that she, her husband Nick, and four children were struggling financially

No longer strapped for cash, the happy family has some some peace of mind thanks to the mother's sultry online presence. “OnlyFans allows me financial freedom. I can provide everything my family needs and more.”

The Post reports that Tillia briefly pursued a career in bodybuilding and fitness modeling after resigning from her teaching job in 2016, but things really took off after she met a boudoir photographer.

“He asked if I wanted to take lingerie or nude shots,” Tillia said. “At first I was nervous. But once we started, I felt so liberated and free. I finally felt like myself again.”

That liberating feeling is something that Tillia works to impart on others as the head of her own life-coaching brand centered around female empowerment.

“I knew right then and there I wanted to keep experiencing that feeling of being powerful and sexy,” she said. “And more importantly, I wanted other women to feel that way too.”

“Women have been shamed for expressing their sexuality for such a long time,” Tillia continued. "I work with hundreds of women all over America, Australia, Europe and everywhere,” she said. “I’m helping those clients break through the shame and guilt that’s been imposed upon them for wanting to be free to express their sexiness.”

And for all internet trolls and keyboard warriors who might try to shame like-minded women, she has something to say:

“I guess I’m a sex worker. But I’m not ashamed of that. I feel better than I ever have in my life,” she said. “I’ve changed my life financially. I’m changing the lives of other women. I’m happy just doing me.”

<![CDATA[Dave Portnoy's 'Barstool Fund' Raises Millions For More Than 100 Small Businesses Affected By Pandemic]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=news/barstool-fund-tops-22-millionhttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=news/barstool-fund-tops-22-millionMon, 11 Jan 2021 19:00:00 GMT

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy has helped raise more than $22 million for scores of small businesses impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Portnoy—or "El Presidente" as he's known to diehard Stoolies—kicked things off with a hefty $500,000 personal donation in December. As of January 11, Portnoy's "Barstool Fund" had raked in an impressive $22.3 million from nearly 175,000 contributors, including Barstool-friendly celebs like Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Guy Fieri and Kid Rock. The money donated so far will help 109 struggling small businesses.

Portnoy helped generate publicity for his small business-boosting fund by posting videos of calls in which he informs business owners they'll be receiving aid. As the Evansville, Indiana Courier & Press reports, one such video featured James Siebert, owner of Siebert's Clothing in Jasper, Indiana.

"We've gotten the whole story about your store—your daughter sent it—we wanna help," Portnoy said. "We wanna get you in the Barstool Fund and get you guys the funds you need, and make sure you're good 'til this thing's over."

"I'm going to start crying, Dave," Siebert said. Portnoy replied, "Crying gets you more donations. People get to see how moved you're going to feel; I love it."

That exchange caught the attention of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, who retweeted the clip with the comment, "This is awesome Dave. Count me in."

Most recently, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers announced that he'd match Portnoy's $500,000 donation in an Instagram live interview.

View the original article to see embedded media.

"I've been following you for a while, and I love the brand and what you guys have done, but this far exceeds anything you have ever done," Rodgers told Portnoy. "I just want to get involved. The videos everyday are so inspiring. I'm in. I want to be in the same amount you put in, $500,000."

"They are doing something that the government isn't doing," Rodgers continued. "This is real money. This is not, 'Hey, we'll put you on a list and we'll try to work you in.' You're getting them the money in 24 to 72 hours. That's life-changing money."

Celebrity chef and restaurateur Guy Fieri also showed support for the Barstool Fund by pinning the above tweet to the top of his feed.

"Emergency Press Conference," Fieri wrote, mimicking Portnoy's many "Emergency Press Conference" captioned posts. "Citizens of @flavortown, it’s time to show our support for the @BarstoolFund."

Meanwhile, Kid Rock pledged $100,000 in a tweet, adding "THIS IS THE AMERICA I LOVE."

Fox News reports that the 44-year-old media mogul called out CNN for its lack of coverage after the network reported on Beyoncé's "BeyGOOD Impact Fund" offering $5,000 grants to 100 people facing foreclosures or evictions during the pandemic.

"This is great. I wonder if there are any other charities going on that are helping Americans with the corona pandemic that could use press coverage to help raise more money?" Portnoy reacted with three cricket emojis.

"I have no problem with them talking about Beyonce," Portnoy later explained to Fox Business host Stuart Varney. "Any charity is good. She donated, I think, half a million dollars to helping people who are getting kicked out of their houses because of COVID, which is great."(CNN published a story on Rodgers' donation two days later.)

Head to the Barstool Fund's webpage to donate if you're interested and able.

<![CDATA[$200 Billion Wiped Off Cryptocurrency Market as Bitcoin Plunges]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=news/bitcoin-dives-200-billion-cryptocurrencyhttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=news/bitcoin-dives-200-billion-cryptocurrencyMon, 11 Jan 2021 17:26:56 GMT

The cryptocurrency market took a nosedive early Monday and Bitcoin (BTC) led the way. The largest form of crypto, BTC dropped 12 percent from a previous day's high of $32,576. The market as a whole lost $200 billion in value.

CNBC has more details:

The market capitalization or value of the cryptocurrency market was $880 billion at 9:20 a.m. ET, down from $1.08 trillion a day earlier, according to Coinmarketcap.

Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency, fell over 12% from a day earlier to $32,576, according to Coin Metrics data. It earlier sank to an intraday low of $30,863. Ether, the second-largest cryptocurrency, was down 23% to $1,005. It briefly tumbled below $1,000, hitting an intraday low of $945.

CNBC quoted Simons Chen, the executive director of investment and trading at crypto financial services firm Babel Finance, who said that this "correction we saw was expected as we believe the BTC price surge recently from under $20,000 to $40,000 in the past four weeks will induce sell pressure."

According to Chen, Bitcoin hitting $40,000 last week may have prompted heavy selling for profit, hence the dive.

On Friday, Jan. 8, CNN published a piece by Paul R. La Monica asserting that Bitcoin's big 40k rally could very well "be the 'mother of all bubbles,'" according to Bank of America.

CNN cited a report from Bank of America Securities chief investment strategist Michael Hartnett, who stated that Bitcoin's remarkable 1,000% surge in value since 2019 completely outstrips past instances of "investing mania," but that those past crazes—gold investing in the 70s, Japanese stocks in the 1980s—all saw triple-digit increases before the bubble popped.

In its article about the market plunge, CNBC also quoted crypto venture capital and trading firm Kenetic Capital founder Jehan Chu, who believes this is just a "short term correction" that is "both natural and needed, and is a great entry point for long-term investors as we quickly reach $50k this quarter and $100k by year’s end. So at the moment, BTC investors can choose to simply go with Chu's estimation that this isn't a full-on pop and buy low then wait to sell high. The chances are in favor of the market climbing again.

As of noon January 11, Bitcoin was valued at $31,703.00 and possibly on the rise. The best idea, for now, might just be to wait and see if the bounce holds. Keep an eye on the market here: coindesk.com/price/bitcoin.

<![CDATA[Lana Del Rey Under Fire for 'Tone Deaf Comment' About New Album Cover Art]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=entertainment/lana-del-rey-chemtrails-over-the-country-club-commentshttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=entertainment/lana-del-rey-chemtrails-over-the-country-club-commentsMon, 11 Jan 2021 16:41:17 GMT

Lana Del Rey just dropped the cover art and 11-song tracklist for her upcoming album Chemtrails Over the Country Club, the release of which was delayed until January due to the coronavirus pandemic.

01 “White Dress”
02 “Chemtrails Over The Country Club”
03 “Tulsa Jesus Freak”
04 “Let Me Love You Like A Woman”
05 “Wild At Heart”
06 “Dark But Just A Game”
07 “Not All Who Wander Are Lost”
08 “Yosemite”
09 “Breaking Up Slowly”
10 “Dance Till We Die”
11 “For Free”

The 1950s-esque art work features Del Rey surrounded by women dressed in period-correct attire with a caption reading, "There’s always turmoil and upheaval and in the midst of it - there’s always beautiful music too."

However, the 35-year-old singer and former Maxim cover star then posted a lengthy comment in the photo that elicited a negative response from fans—here it is in full:

"I also want to say that with everything going on this year! And no this was not intended-these are my best friends, since you are asking today. And damn! As it happens when it comes to my amazing friends and this cover yes there are people of color on this records picture and that’s all I’ll say about that
but thank you."

"My beautiful friend Valerie from Del Rio Mexico, my dearest friend Alex and my gorgeous friend Dakota Rain as well as my sweetheart Tatiana.
these are my friends this is my life. We are all a beautiful mix of everything- some more than others which is visible and celebrated in everything I do. In 11 years working I have always been extremely inclusive without even trying to.

"My best friends are rappers my boyfriends have been rappers. My dearest friends have been from all over the place, so before you make comments again about a WOC/POC issue, I’m not the one storming the capital, I’m literally changing the world by putting my life and thoughts and love out there on the table 24 seven. Respect it."

Reminding people that her "friends are rappers and boyfriends have been rappers," pointing out POCs on the album cover, and dropping the mic with "I’m not the one storming the capital, I’m literally changing the world by putting my life and thoughts and love out there" didn't go over so well with fans and outlets like Uproxx, which called the comment "tone deaf."

The exact release date for Chemtrails Over the Country Club hasn't been announced, but NME reports that the album is set to be available for pre-order on January 11.

RM Sotheby's calls the Ferrari Enzo "Maranello's defining millennial hypercar," the familial bridge between the '90s-era F50 and 2010s-era hybrid LaFerrari. The classic car auctioneer is correct in describing one of most collectible vehicles in its upcoming Arizona auction

The revered Prancing Horse received an enlarged version of its predecessor's 65-degree V12 engine—displacement was upped massively up from 4.7 to 6.0 liters. With the help of racy components such as Nikasil-lined cylinder walls, titanium connecting rods, and a torque-boosting telescoping intake manifold, the Enzo's engine originally sent 651 horsepower through an F1 era-derived six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The resulting zero-to-60 mph time was clocked at 3.3 seconds on the way to a 218-mph top speed.

Building on the carbon fiber and Nomex chassis, designer Ken Okuyama mimicked the shape of an open-wheel racer with a road car skin extending over the fenders and cockpit. Wind tunnel-tested carbon fiber and Kevlar panels create an air-cutting profile, while 19-inch alloy wheels anchored by 15-inch Brembo carbon-ceramic disc brakes provide stopping power. Lamborghini-esque scissor doors finalize the Enzo's exotic appearance.

RM Sotheby's has more details on this specific model's history, which includes a Car and Driver cover:

This Enzo, chassis number 131919, was completed in January of 2003 and delivered new to its original owner, noted tifosi Bob Rapp, via Foreign Cars Italia in Greensboro, North Carolina on 28 March 2003. Since 1967, Rapp’s collection has contained examples of many of Ferrari’s most alluring, desirable, and historically important models, including a 512 S, 312 P, 250 GT SWB, 333 SP, this Enzo, and more recently, a LaFerrari. Believed to be the only Enzo provided delivered to the United States Giallo Modena over Cuoio leather, Rapp additionally specified 131319 with Ferrari competition harnesses. Just two months after delivery, it was prominently featured as the cover car for Car and Driver’s July 2003 article on the Enzo, the willing subject of the first official testing review available to the United States audience.

Issues 148 and 150 of the FCA’s Prancing Horse newsletter provide supplemental information to the aforementioned Car and Driver article regarding Rapp’s time with 131319—most notably his elation testing the car at Virginia International Raceway with the Car and Driver staff.

Rapp later sold 131319 to a Los Angeles-based collector showing approximately 5,300 miles on the odometer. The following year, that owner had a new clutch fitted at Ferrari of Beverly Hills, as documented in the chassis’ accompanying history file. 131319 was thusly acquired by the consignor in late 2007, with whom it has remained part of a regularly-enjoyed collection. An uncatalyzed performance exhaust system by Tubi is presently fitted, though the original set has been retained.

In 2014, the consignor reassigned this Enzo’s title to his Ohio residence, then showing approximately 7,800 miles indicated. A 2017 invoice from Ferrari Service Inc. of Fountain Hills, Arizona illustrates an oil change, coolant flush, and mechanical inspection completed with 131319 showing just north of 11,400 miles. In preparation for sale, the consignor also had a system diagnostic test commissioned, the results of which are available in the accompanying document file.

RM Sotheby's is expecting this 2003 Ferrari Enzo to fetch between $2.25 and $2.5 million when it hits the block on January 22.

<![CDATA[Arnold Schwarzenegger Compares Capitol Hill Rioters to Nazis in Powerful Video]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=news/arnold-schwarzenegger-capitol-hill-rioters-nazis-videohttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=news/arnold-schwarzenegger-capitol-hill-rioters-nazis-videoSun, 10 Jan 2021 20:57:07 GMT

Arnold Schwarzenegger is a bodybuilding and action movie icon. He's also the former governor of California and a deeply political thinker with a troubled family history in his home country of Austria, including a father who was in the Nazi party during World War II.

Schwarzenegger found himself appalled at the January 6, 2021 attempted insurrection in Washington DC, which left 5 dead, including a Capitol Hill police officer, 42-year-old Brian Sicknick. On Sunday Schwarzenegger released the eloquent and moving video above, addressing the event as only he could.

arnold schwarzenegger

Schwarzenegger was elected as a moderate Republican and has never repudiated the party. But in his video, the governator didn't hold back on his feelings regarding the current party and the president of the United States.

President Trump, said Schwarzenegger, "sought a coup by misleading people with lies."

"My father," he continued, "and our neighbors were misled also with lies."

Schwarzenegger frankly addressed his heritage as well and compared the Capitol Hill insurrection to Kristallnacht—an event that took place in November 1938 in Nazi Germany, when members of Hitler's "Brownshirts" burned synagogues, damaged Jewish businesses, schools, and homes. In the space of two days, the Nazis killed 100 Jews.

"Kristallnacht" means "Night of Broken Glass" and Schwarzenegger went there, saying "Wednesday was the Day of Broken Glass right here in the United States; the broken glass was in the windows of the United States Capitol."

He continued:

But the mob did not just shatter the windows of the Capitol; they shattered the ideals we took for granted. They did not just break down the doors of the building that housed the American democracy; they trampled the very principles upon which our country was founded.

He went on to describe living with a former Nazi father after World War II in Austria, saying he "was surrounded by broken men drinking away the guilt over their participation in the most evil regime in history."

"My father would come home drunk once or twice a week," Schwarzenegger continued, "and he would scream and hit us. I did not hold him totally responsible because our neighbor was doing the same thing to his family, and so was the same neighbor over."

Schwarzenegger did not avoid mention of President Trump, whom he essentially replaced when he hosted The New Celebrity Apprentice in 2017.

"President Trump sought to overturn the results of an election," Schwarzenegger said, "by misleading people with lies."

"And I know where such lies lead. President Trump is a failed leader. He will go down as the worst president ever. The good thing is he will soon be as irrelevant as an old tweet."

The man who left an indelible stamp on the history of action films could not avoid his Hollywood background. He closed with a theatrical flourish. He held up the sword he wielded in Conan the Barbarian and said, "Our democracy is like the steel of this sword. The more it is tempered, the stronger it becomes."

As of Sunday, federal and state authorities were still actively investigating the Capitol Hill Riots, having already arrested many of the rioters who posted footage of themselves inside the Capitol unmasked, vandalizing offices and artwork.

It remains up in the air as to whether Congress will actually seek another impeachment of President Trump for the riot as well as an apparent attempt to get the Georgia secretary of state to help him invalidate that state's election results, but there may be growing and bipartisan support for the action in congress.

A lot can happen in a little over a week, and President-elect Joe Biden and Vice-president-elect Kamala Harris will be sworn into office on January 20, 2021. Get ready for some kind of bumpy ride.

<![CDATA[Sony Introduces TVs That Can Imitate The Way Humans See and Hear]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=gear/sony-tv-bravia-xr-humans-see-hearhttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=gear/sony-tv-bravia-xr-humans-see-hearSun, 10 Jan 2021 18:13:25 GMT

Just ahead of CES 2021 Sony has introduced a remarkable innovation in home entertainment: The Bravia XR series.

According to Sony, this is their first TV using the Cognitive Processor XR, which imitates the way humans use vision and hearing by finding image focus points and sound sources to produce a strikingly realistic, immersive experience.

Sony describes how the Bravia's processor works in a press release:

When we see objects, we unconsciously focus on certain points. Cognitive Processor XR, powered by cognitive intelligence, divides the screen into numerous zones and detects where the "focal point" is in the picture.

While conventional Artificial Intelligence (AI) can only detect and analyze picture elements like color, contrast and detail individually, the new processor can cross-analyze an array of elements at once, just as our brains do. By doing so, each element is adjusted to its best final outcome, in conjunction with each other, so everything is synchronized and lifelike – something that conventional AI cannot achieve.

If you are a little spooked by what AI could do, the above might tweak your paranoia just a bit.

The Cognitive Processor will be in every XR model, such as the 8K LED display Master Series Z9J or the Master Series A90J, with its range of OLEDs that start 55-inches.

Additional features found on the XR models include:

 • Google TV
 • HDMI 2.1
 • Voice controls
 • Compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant
 • Netflix Calibrated Mode
 • IMAX Enhanced

To find out more, you can visit Sony's XR page: sony.com. Also look for an announcement video on January 11 during CES 2021 at 5pm Eastern here: square.sony.com.

Sony says the Bravia XR's suggested retail price will come later, in spring 2021.

Watch enthusiasts have long had their own communities and a shared language of the love of stellar timepieces, and there’s plenty more where that came from (if you know where to look), all thanks to the Grand Seiko GS9 Club and the exclusive Grand Seiko SBGE263 sport watch.

The GS9 Club is a one-of-a-kind way for watch lovers and diehard fans of Grand Seiko watches (of which there seem to be plenty of incredible recent releases) to connect, celebrate the brand, go behind the scenes and of course, shop exclusive watches like the SBGE263 with early access.

Watch aficionados have plenty of resources to pique their interest when it comes to new and rare timepieces, but it’s exclusive access to a watch like the Grand Seiko SBGE263 that really catches our eye.

Inspiration was drawn from the powerful eagle—majestic and authoritative. This gleaming sport watch certainly seems to fit the bill quite nicely, what with its stainless steel construction and a striking deep brown dial that calls to mind the plumage of our national bird.

It’s a bold and distinctive watch with a price tag to match ($6,700 on the dot), one that’s befitting of a collection filled with Grand Seiko watches. The Caliber 9R66 Spring Drive GMT is an incredible feature in its own right, jumping to the local hour when moving through time zones without having to reset the watch.

This watch isn’t like anything you’ve got in your collection, which should make it highly appealing to GS9 Club members and Grand Seiko fans alike. Only 110 are available starting this month, so act quickly to snag yours in the nick of time (pun intended).

Zendaya and John David Washington portray a warring couple in a passionate love/hate relationship in Netflix's striking new black and white trailer for Malcolm & Marie.

Euphoria creator Sam Levinson directed the arty love story, filmed in secret this summer under quarantine, with the cast and crew locking down for two weeks and then sequestering themselves in a bubble for filming.

Malcolm & Marie follows a filmmaker (Washington) and his girlfriend (Zendaya) who return home following a celebratory movie premiere as he awaits what seems to be surefire critical and financial success—just as the tensions in their relationship are exposed.

“I feel like once you know someone is there for you and once they love you, you never actually think of them again,” Zendaya tells Washington in the trailer. “It’s not until you’re about to lose someone that you finally pay attention.”

Malcolm & Marie starts streaming exclusively on Netflix beginning Feb. 5.

CES 2021 hasn't even begun but Dell is coming out of the gate strong with a new line of UltraSharp monitors. They're leading with what Dell says is the first-ever 40-inch, ultrawide, curved WUHD monitor. And it is a thing of beauty.

UltraSharps come in a variety of sizes and price points and while gamers might salivate at the prospect of diving into their favorite first-person shooter with one, Dell is aiming in their ad literature at business use, touting these as next-level monitors that will “elevate work experiences and boost employee productivity.”

The UltraSharp 40 Curved Monitor (model no. U4021QW) is the star of the show. According to Dell, it's a world first: Curved, ultrawide, 40 inches with WUHD 5K2K resolution

Select specs include a much wider, curved field of view that lowers reflectivity. Top resolution is a crystal-clear 5,120 x 2,160, 140 PPI of pixel density and a pair of integrated 9-watt speakers. The UltraSharp also covers 100% of Adobe's sRGB spectrum.

UltraSharp 40s have excellent connectivity potential with two HDMI 2.0 ports, a Thunderbolt 3 port which can provide 90 watts worth of charge, USB Type B port, USB-C, and a “superspeed” USB-A.

Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, the Consumer Electronics Show is virtual this year and runs from January 11-14. Find out more about the show here: digital.ces.tech.

Consumers won't have to wait long for the Dell UltraSharp 40 Curved Monitor. It will be available on January 28 and retails for $2,100. Learn more about the UltraSharp line at DellTechnologies.com.

<![CDATA[The Zenith Chronomaster Revival A385 Channels Legendary 1969 'El Primero' Watch]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=style/zenith-chronometer-revival-a385-reissuehttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=style/zenith-chronometer-revival-a385-reissueFri, 08 Jan 2021 13:00:00 GMT

Luxury Swiss watchmaker Zenith has dug deep into its archives for the brand's latest retro-minded release, a recreation of the famed El Primero, the world's first high-frequency automatic chronograph.

The groundbreaking timepiece was first unveiled as three distinctive stainless steel models in 1969, including the A385, a tonneau-shaped chronograph with a striking brown gradient dial, considered to be the watch industry's first-ever “smoked” dial.

Perhaps even more notable than the El Primero's signature features was its 1970 publicity push, when Zenith launched an "Operation Sky" p.r. stunt in which the watch was strapped to an Air France Boeing 707’s landing gear on a flight from Paris to New York to test its resistance to wild temperature fluctuations, wind force and varying air pressure.

When the El Primero was still functioning perfectly upon landing, it was seen as proof by horological aficionados of the day that a mechanical movement was, in fact, superior to the era's more popular quartz movements, which would surely have been damaged by the extreme temperature changes during the flight.

Now, more than 50 years later, Zenith has brought back the El Primero A385 in the form of a new Chronomaster Revival, an unusually faithful reproduction of the original 1969 watch. Zenith designers used original blueprints and production plans to ensure that each part of the A385’s 37mm tonneau-shaped stainless steel case, including its pump-style pushers, was a painstaking recreation of the iconic 1969 model.

Zenith allows that the only differences between the new watch and the classic timepiece are the domed sapphire crystal instead of acrylic glass and a display back instead of a solid steel case back, offering a gloriously unobstructed view of the El Primero 400 chronograph movement.

But the new A385 boasts the same signature smoked brown gradient dial that blackens towards the edges to provide a truly unique sense of visual depth, red chronograph central second hand and silvery chronograph counters.

The retro-themed reissue is available in two options: an era-appropriate steel “ladder” bracelet—a nod to the classic Gay Frères bracelets that adorned early El Primero watches—for $8,400 and a light brown calf leather strap version for $7,900.

The Chronomaster A385 is available now at Zenith Boutiques and online store, as well as authorized retailers around the world.

Manta ANN2

Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft can take off and land vertically like a helicopter, but maintain the aerodynamic flight pattern an aircraft. Swiss manufacturer Manta is adding the ability to land on a just a 100-yard runway in its single-seat ANN1 and twin-seat ANN2 concepts.

Manta ANN2

These are technically electric Short-Area Takeoff and Landing (eSTOL) aircraft, and they do have a major advantage over eVTOLs. According to Robb Report, a runway landing requires far less energy than a vertical landing, meaning eSTOLs can potentially carry a heavier payload without sacrificing significant range or speed.

Recent tests on a ten-foot-long scale model project an 186-mph cruising speed over a maximum distance of 373 miles. Additionally, the ANNs carry fuel-powered generators that recharge the batteries on the fly.

Manta ANN1

Both feature a lightweight carbon composite frame, dual-wing high-speed V-tail, and eight motors, each with a designated ducted fan. According to Manta, the 18-foot wingspan ANN1 is designed for "sport competitions" that require "high-speed performance and exceptional maneuverability," similar to the Alauda Racing Airspeeder

In contrast, the 22-foot wingspan ANN2 was imagined for general aviation and transport services, which is more akin to Hyundai and Uber's air tax concept. Renderings of the ANN2 show cases for first responders like police, paramedics, and emergency response teams.

Until a working prototype of either ANN1 or ANN2 is created, feel free to learn more at Manta's website

Paige Spiranac's nearly 3 million Instagram followers can expect more plunging crop tops, dresses and athleticwear in 2021. The Maxim Hot 100 beauty and "OG Insta golf girl" pledged to maintain her cleavage-baring wardrobe as part of her New Year's resolution in a recent Instagram post.

"I know I’m a few days late but happy new year!" Spiranac captioned a video of one of her many picture-perfect tee-offs. "Here’s to health, happiness, lower scores, and my same old low cut tops. What are some of your 2021 goals or resolutions?"

The New York Post rounded up choice responses to Spiranac's prompt.

“My New Years resolution was to play a round of golf with you,” one follower replied. “My goal is for a particular golf influencer to notice me,” another wrote. “The low-cut tops are good in any year,” another added.

As much as the Playing A Round podcast host loves her low-cut looks, she did discover her cleavage-flashing limit last year in the video above.

“I finally found a shirt that even made me uncomfortable with the amount of skin showing. Took one swing and quickly put my jacket back on.”

While we're on the subject, see some of the lowest cuts from Spiranac's closet below:

Elon Musk

All it took was a bump in Tesla shares. Now the EV company's founder, Elon Musk, is officially the richest person on the planet. Wealthier than Jeff Bezos, Warren Buffett (8th place), or Bill Gates (4th place).

Musk's net worth? In excess of $185 billion. To put that in perspective: Musk could give every American citizen about $300 each and he'd still be worth $85 billion (but don't ask him for a loan).

Elon Musk; Jeff Bezos

The Tesla stock price increase was what Musk needed to finally beat Jeff Bezos—worth $184 billion and the richest man in the world since 2017. And according to CNBC's Robert Frank, this "marks the fastest rise to the top of the rich list in history."

It's also a bit of a comeback story for Musk. More from CNBC:

Musk started 2020 worth about $27 billion, and was barely in the top 50 richest people.

Tesla’s rocketing share price — which has increased more than nine-fold over the past year — along with his generous pay package have added more than $150 billion to his net worth.

According to CNBC, Bezos has stayed in the same place in part due to Amazon's flatter share prices, which have been dampened by the possibility of additional regulations from the US government.

It doesn't look like Musk's money is going anywhere, either. As of the afternoon of January 7th, Tesla was trading at nearly $800 per share and climbing.

<![CDATA[The 'Most Beautiful Car Ever Made' Can Now Be Yours]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=rides/most-beautiful-car-ever-made-headed-to-auctionhttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=rides/most-beautiful-car-ever-made-headed-to-auctionThu, 07 Jan 2021 18:17:53 GMT

Jaguar recently announced a 60-car run of the F-Type R "Heritage Edition" as a tribute to the historic E-Type, a now-iconic British roadster that was famously declared "the most beautiful ever made" by Enzo Ferrari. Instead of copping a special variant of the E-Type's modern kin, you can score the real deal at RM Sotheby's upcoming Arizona auction.

Not only did it receive superlative praise from the Prancing Horse progenitor, the E-Type is one of very few automobiles ever to be admitted to the Museum of Modern Art's permanent collection, alongside other all-time classics like the 1965 Porsche 911, 1953 Jeep MD, and 1959 Volkswagen Beetle. But what makes this particular example especially enticing is that it's a 1961, the first model year of the sought-after Series 1 generation.

A frame-off concours-level restoration was completed by marque expert Dave Ferguson in 2013. He refinished the exterior in its original Opalescent Bronze and dressed the interior in a "pumpkin" beige leather to match the original upholstery. Rather than being re-fitted with the retro fawn-colored top, an arguably more striking black convertible soft top was installed.

While Jaguar's 3.8-litre inline six-cylinder is still under the hood, Ferguson went for a more accessibly geared five-speed manual in place of the correct four-speed Moss (though that original transmission included with purchase). Larger front disc brakes provide better stopping power, but the majority of the car's other factory parts were used elsewhere, including the headlamp covers, windscreen, fluid reservoir, nuts, bolts and washers.

RM Sotheby's has further details on its provenance:

According to its Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, this left-hand drive Series 1 E-Type was built on 2 October 1961 and dispatched to New York on 12 October 1961. Exactly 30 days later, it was delivered to its first owner in Los Angeles, California.

Three subsequent owners have had possession of the car prior to the consigner purchasing it in 2016: the second owner purchased it in the late 1960s, Kirk Fry of Palo Alto, California took ownership in 1976, and the fourth owner in 2002.

Valued at between $200,000-$250,000, the 1961 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8-Liter Roadster is one of 91 lots set to hit the block at RM Sotheby's Arizona auction on January 22, 2021.

<![CDATA[Samsung Debuts 'Neo QLED' TV Tech For 4K and 8K Models]]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=gear/samsung-introduces-neo-qled-techhttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=gear/samsung-introduces-neo-qled-techThu, 07 Jan 2021 16:31:25 GMT

Samsung's latest innovation in home entertainment brings even more precise display capability and backlighting to its QLED LCD TVs.

The electronics company announced a new "Neo QLED" technology for its flagship 8K and 4K models. As the Verge notes, the new moniker denotes the use of Mini LED (light-emitting diodes) that are 40 times smaller than traditional LEDs.

Instead of using a lens to disperse light from fixed LEDs, the Mini LED has ultra-thin micro layers filled with many LEDs that increase the luminance scale to 12-bit with 4096 steps. This makes dark areas darker and bright areas brighter, thereby squeezing more out of High-Dynamic Range (HDR).

Neo QLED's Mini LED is paired with what Samsung calls a Neo Quantum Processor that enhances upscaling capabilities. By using up to 16 AI-equipped neural network models, the processor can optimize picture quality to 4K and 8K picture output regardless of the input quality.

Samsung's Neo QLED 8K models—the QN900A and the QN800A—also benefit from a few other design upgrades for 2021. The bezel isn't just thin but virtually non-existent thanks to a new Infinity One Design, while a connectable Slim One Connect box tidies up cords to make the screen's install area more sightly.

Object Tracking Sound Pro—previously featured on the 110 MicroLED announced in late 2020—identifies objects moving on screen and projects the sound accordingly to follow the action. A new “SpaceFit Sound” feature uses a built-in mic that analyzes a room’s acoustics and automatically adjusts to create optimal audio settings.

Pricing info hasn't been released, but the first Samsung Neo QLED 8K and 4K TVs are due to roll out in the coming months.

This is it. We’ve reached the NFL postseason where many a fortune has been made. You’ve got that $500 bankroll in your pocket and, if you’ve been following along all season, it should be considerably bigger by now.

If not, and you’re just now dipping your toe into sports betting, this is absolutely the time. BetOnline will make the whole process easy for you and even boost up your account with a $1,000 bonus if you join today.

As always, the odds featured below are courtesy of BetOnline.AG.

Best Bet

Back during the season we used this section for our “locks,” but when it comes to the postseason there’s just no such thing. You might look at the 7-9 Washington Football Team hosting the Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an easy win for those Brady Bucs, but pump the brakes.

Twice before teams made the playoffs with just seven victories, the 2010 Seattle Seahawks (7-9) and the 2014 Carolina Panthers (7-8-1), and hosted Wild-Card round playoff games.

Both those 7-win teams won and neither game was particularly close. The 2010 Seahawks knocked off the Drew Brees-led New Orleans Saints a year after the Saints won the Super Bowl, winning 41-36. You might remember that as the “Beast Mode” game where Marshawn Lynch blasted his way through every single New Orleans defender on his way to a 67-yard touchdown run that caused the crowd to react so loudly it registered on nearby seismographs.

In 2014, the Panthers hosted the 11-5 Arizona Cardinals in the Wild-Card round and delivered a 27-16 beat down. Arizona was held to just 78 yards of total offense and their only second half score was a safety in the final three seconds of the game that Carolina intentionally gave up to keep from punting from their own end zone.

The coaches in that 2014 Cards at Panthers game? Bruce Arians (Arizona) and Ron Rivera (Carolina).

How about the Chicago Bears at the New Orleans Saints as a solid alternative? Nope.

Brees still isn’t 100 percent, Alvin Kamara might not play since he was on the COVID-19 list in Week 17 and New Orleans is 0-2 in their last two home playoff games, losing in overtime to the Los Angeles Rams 26-23 to end their 2018 season and to the Minnesota Vikings 26-20 to end 2019.

So who gets the call? Why it’s the Buffalo Bills, who looked like the best team not only in the NFL, but the entire universe over the last two months of the season. Their only loss in the last 11 weeks was thanks to a freakish Hail Mary pass hauled in by DeAndre Hopkins on November 15. They’re playing an Indianapolis Colts team that they themselves knocked into the playoffs thanks to a 56-26 curb stomping of the Miami Dolphins last Sunday.

Pick: $250 on the Bills at -290 at BetOnline.AG

Teaser of the Week

Here is where we’re going to get downright larcenous thanks to a two-team teaser that you need to jump on quickly because both of these lines could move all over the place before kickoff.

Why, you ask? Because in one of the games, a head coach and multiple members of their coaching staff will be sidelined thanks to positive COVID-19 tests. I’m talking, of course, about the Cleveland Browns who are, as of this writing, +6 dogs to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Browns already had a tough row to hoe as they narrowly beat this same Steelers team last Sunday with Mason Rudolph at quarterback. Cleveland’s defense has been a sieve all season and surrendered 315 passing yards to Rudolph, a career day for a QB who was benched multiple times last year for a guy named “Duck.”

What are we sticking with this? The team that’s found themselves back in punditry and the books’ good graces thanks to a month of bulldozing AFC losers. I’m talking about the Baltimore Ravens who enter their game against the Tennessee Titans as -3 favorites. If I’m Tennessee, that bothers me a tad.

The Titans not only ended the Raven’s season last year in the divisional round in a game that was never in question, they beat them 30-24 in their match up this season, in Baltimore on overtime. For the second time in less than a calendar year, the Poe Birds heard Maury Povich read their paternity results aloud and learned that Derrick Henry is, in fact, their father.

The dude just ran for 250 yards and two touchdowns against the Houston Texans. He eclipsed 2,000 yards in a season, just the fifth player to ever do it. Ryan Tannehill has put up Patrick Mahomes numbers this year and A.J. Brown will be the best wide receiver on the field. Are they kidding with this Ravens -3?

I like the Steelers. I like the Titans. I like them even better with a 06.0 tease.

Teaser Pick: $200 on the Steelers pick-em and the Titans at +9 at BetOnline.AG

Prop Bet of the Week

We’ve been able to slide in a prop for a while on the early Super Bowl conference winner, but I’ve avoided it. No more.

The Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills are the best teams in the league and it doesn’t look close, barring some kind of coronavirus or injury disaster.

The hook is gone in the AFC vs NFC spreads and you’ll get no better odds than that as the playoffs roll on.

Pick: $40 on the AFC -3 to win the Super Bowl at BetOnline.AG

The Crazy, Longshot, Throwing-a-Dart Parlay of the Week

How I’m feeling and my pride is the one to blame. ‘Cause I know I don’t understand just how your love can do what no one else can. Got me looking at a Crazy Parlay right now.

Just because we’re down to six games doesn’t mean there isn’t an eye-popping parlay to take advantage of here. First off, let’s toss in the moneylines for the picks we’ve already made; Titans (+153), Steelers (-165) and Bills (-290).

Now, let’s look at some totals.

The Bills have scored 48, 38 and 56 in the last three weeks. You like that over 51 (-108)? I sure do. How about that Ravens at Titans game that went into OT the last time they played. Tennessee has scored 31, 46 and 41 in their last three victories. Baltimore scored 47, 40 and 38 in three of their last four wins. That over 54.5 (-115)? I love it.

That Rams at Seahawks over/under of 42.5? In their last three contests they combined to score 40, 39 and 29 and that was with everyone healthy on both squads. Two of those were Rams wins. I like that under at -110.

A $10 parlay bet on these moneylines and totals pays $314.08 at BetOnline.AG

The coronavirus pandemic has turned many in a locked-down world into wannabe travelers. And this new superyacht concept from Kyron Design won't help matters, especially those with the means to afford such a magnificent ship. It manages to combine the essence of luxury with an ability to take its lucky owner pretty much anywhere there's a place to dock your boat.

The yacht measures 230 feet and has room for 20 guests in 10 cabins in addition to the luxury master suite. The ship has a sharp, stealth-like tactical design, its steel hull protected by a fiberglass superstructure.

An Audi AI Quattro concept EV

The spacious main deck doesn't just have plenty of space for amenities like a bar or pool, it also has room to park a couple of Audi AI: Trail EVs so the transition from exploring open water to uncharted land is virtually seamless.

There is space for another bar and aft sundeck and in addition to the guest accommodations, there are generous crew cabins and a unique circle-shaped lounge area for great panoramic ocean vistas.

The Nzuri concept was created with exploration in mind. It can speed along at 22 knots in open water and has a 4,000 nautical mile range.

Salma Hayek is ringing in the new year the same way she bid farewell to 2020—with a sizzling bikini-clad thirst trap. In the first week of 2021, the 54-year-old star of Marvel's ensemble-casted Eternals dropped a selfie that garnered over 2 million likes in two days. Hayek sported a brown halter-neck top and matching bottoms, a plunging gold necklace and earrings, and tortoise sunglasses.

The Mexican-American actress fittingly captioned the post "Guapaaaaa"—Spanish for "beautiful"—and many of her followers concurred.

"50+ and still breaking hearts, eh?" one Instagram user wrote, per People. "A second joked, "You are seriously one the most beautiful women I've ever seen. I'm not even mad at my husband when he talks about how hot you are."

The post's staggeringly high "like" count proves that not all bikini photos are created equal. The aforementioned end-of-the-year snap, in which Hayek's killer curves were highlighted by a plunging purple number and matching caftan, tapered off at around 1.4 million likes.

"Last days of 2020," the Mexican-American she captioned that post in English and Spanish. "Never been more grateful for being healthy and in contact with nature."

Last year saw the ageless beauty stun on Instagram as Lady Liberty, in a retro swimsuit photo shoot recreation, and at the Golden Globes

Let's see what heat Hayek has in store for 2021.

Adidas' vintage Originals branch is taking cues from classic 8-bit consoles like the Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega Master to accent its incoming "Gaming Pack."

The four-sneaker capsule is headed by the Superstar in premium full-grain white leather. The centerpiece appears on the upper, where the German athleticwear giants' famed Three Stripe logo is shrouded with blocky pixels in RGBK and gray. A similar 8-bit-0inspired design appears on the insole, while an era-specific rubber toe shell and Adidas Originals Trefoil on the tongue top off the Gaming Pack Superstar.

Next up is the Ozweego. Hypebeast reports that a "Collegiate Navy" and "Cloud White" colorway graces the upper and proprietary adiPRENE elastic midsole, but patches of HD 3D-style rectangular graphics are used on the toe and heel cup.

An ZX 2K Boost gets the same core colors as the Ozweego but reversed, with Cloud White being the dominant hue on the upper and midsole. The 3D rectangular blue graphics appear in the mid-panel and heel, with the white Three Stripes featured in a clean, uninterrupted treatment.

Rounding out the Gaming Pack is an NMD_R1 in "Core Black." Again, the blue 3D graphics are presented, but in patches located the heel and below the black Three Stripes, which are surrounded by a blue-green graded highlight. The rubber rectangle pieces that creep over the top of the black outsole and onto the upper on every NMD_R1 silhouette appear in mint green and blue.

The Adidas Originals Gaming Pack drops online on January 7, with prices ranging from $90 to $150.

The dryly humorous banter between David Hasselhoff and his autonomous automotive partner K.I.T.T. (Knight Industries Two Thousand) in the 1980s TV series Knight Rider made for a next-level on-screen relationship between man and car. Now 35 years after the pair solved their last crime on the classic show, The Hoff is selling his prized K.I.T.T. replica on LiveAuctioneers.

Car and Driver reports that the vehicle is a 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am conversion to a "fully functional K.I.T.T.," but that description likely only applies to the sci-fi-tastic light-up dash, bevy of buttons on the center console, and the custom red lights hidden under the hood.

High-tech weaponry and near-indestructibility obviously aren't included, but we hope that some of the fictional software's classic sarcastic commentary voiced by William Daniels has been pre-programmed.

Not many other details were included about K.I.T.T., other than a portion of the proceeds from its sale will be donated to charity. But there is one more kicker that could sweeten the deal for the right Knight Rider fan: If the hammer price exceeds the reserve price by 25 percent or more, the Hoff will personally deliver K.I.T.T. to the winning bidder. The current $375,000 bid has already far exceeded a maximum pre-sale figure of $300,000.

It's the premiere item among The Hoff Auction's 150 pieces of personal memorabilia, including stage worn wardrobe, awards, scripts, toys, autographed items, and photos.

K.I.T.T. toy pedal car

If you can't swing six-figures for a piece of Knight Rider nostalgia, a signed portrait, promotional picture, and a rare K.I.T.T. toy pedal car are currently set to fetch between $475 and $1,200.

<![CDATA[Kim Kardashian Is Reportedly Divorcing Kanye West: 'She's Done']]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=entertainment/kim-kardashian-reportedly-ready-to-divorce-kanye-westhttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=entertainment/kim-kardashian-reportedly-ready-to-divorce-kanye-westWed, 06 Jan 2021 15:33:42 GMT

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West--perhaps the world's most famous couple--are reportedly heading toward divorce, according to multiple entertainment news outlets.

Page Six initially broke the news that Kardashian and West are close to filing for divorce. Later, People, E!, TMZ, Entertainment Tonight, Us Weekly and CNN were among the outlets that published their own reports, with sources telling the sites that Kardashian hasn't filed yet, but knows her marriage has been over for a while.

Here, some highlights from Page Six's scoop:

Multiple sources tell Page Six that “divorce is imminent” for the Hollywood couple, with Kardashian hiring divorce attorney to the stars Laura Wasser.

“They are keeping it low-key but they are done,” says a source. “Kim has hired Laura Wasser and they are in settlement talks.”

Kim, 40, hasn’t been seen wearing her wedding ring, and Kanye, 43, remained at his $14 million Wyoming ranch over the holidays instead of spending it with the Kardashian family, who drew criticism for their extravagant celebrations.

“Kim got Kanye to go up there [Wyoming] so they could live separate lives and quietly get things sorted out to separate and divorce. She’s done,” the source continued.

And apparently Kim isn't the only one who is "done" with the super-famous coupling. Kanye isn't exactly thrilled about the state of their relationship, either, reports Page Six.

Meanwhile, a separate source says Kanye, who became increasingly uncomfortable and irritated by the Kardashians’ over-the-top reality star lives, “Is completely over the entire family … He wants nothing to do with them,” adding he eventually found their reality show “unbearable.”

West tweeted in July, “I been trying to get divorced since Kim met with Meek at the Warldolf [sic] for ‘prison reform,’” seeming to refer to a criminal justice summit attended by Kim and rapper Meek Mill in November 2018.

He also called momager Kris Jenner “Kris Jong-Un” and claimed that the Kardashians were trying to force him into psychiatric treatment.

We'll have to wait and see if Kardashian and West confirm the rampant split rumors, but at least the family is on extremely solid financial footing despite Kimye apparently growing apart.

West was recently named by Forbes as the second highest-paid celebrity of 2020, right behind Kardashian's little sister, Kylie Jenner.

<![CDATA[This 1,950-HP Japanese Hypercar Is The 'Fastest Accelerating Car Ever']]>https://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=rides/aspark-owl-arrives-in-the-united-stateshttps://waterlifeaquatics.my/?big=rides/aspark-owl-arrives-in-the-united-statesWed, 06 Jan 2021 13:47:41 GMT

The Owl electric hypercar by Japanese engineering firm Aspark has officially arrived in the United States—and the 1,950-horsepower beast boasts some truly staggering speed numbers.

A prototype of the Owl caused a stir when video emerged of a 1.9-second zero-to-60 mph run in 2018, matching the acceleration of Elon Musk's long-promised Tesla Roadster and the Rimrac C_Two

Unfortunately for its American and Croatian competitors, Aspark has since achieved a sprint to 60 mph in 1.72 seconds on Michelin road tires with a foot-long rollout at Misano World Circuit, making it the quickest road car ever made (for now). Aspark's other literature claims it could potentially dip down to 1.69 seconds with the same rubber and rollout.

Autoblog spotted a red Owl with strikingly dihedral doors at The Gables Sports Cars in Miami, what's assumed to be the sole U.S. dealer —a maximum of 10 of 50 examples will be sold in North America. For a predictably expensive $3.6 million, buyers get 1,950 horsepower and 1,475 pound-feet of torque from four permanent magnet synchronous motors, a range of up to 280 miles, and a top speed of 249 mph.

Since the concept debuted at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, a number of design features have been changed. Two new airflow-directing external mirrors with cameras improve vision and are designed to "maximize a feminine shape."

An active spoiler deploys at 93 mph to provide downforce, and a McLaren Senna-/Lamborghini Countach-inspired window cutline was worked out for a clearer line of rearward sight.

The Drive reports that despite being made in Japan, the EV was developed by Italy's Manifattura Automobili Torino—a small volume automaker behind the James Glickenhaus' SCG 003C and Apollo Intensa Emozione. But the Aspark Owl is surely MAT's most impressive automotive project to date.
